i already have met and built up relations with realtors, and have already been in contact with friends and family. i am looking to advertise in a costly matter just for a few deals and build up more contacts. is it worth advertising in bulletins? newsletters? where is a good place to start?

Ok, please forgive me for asking but I am very tax ignorant and I'm trying to avoid going to H & R Block.

I am trying to file my own taxes online, but it doesn't seem to add up.

#1. I am a part-time night college student.
#2. I have 1 child.
#3. I am Head of Household.
#4. I paid $150 a week in child care. ($7800.00 year)
#5. Income was $73,000.
#6. I live in New York City.
#7. Paid over $17,000 in taxes.

Now, I am sure that the correct taxes have been taken out of my checks, but I did it online and it said my tax return would be $9524.00.

I asked my sister (Laurelin) and she has told me that I must of did something wrong to get that amount, but I can't find anything wrong, or is it just that my refund will just be that amount, and or possibly too much taxes were taken out?

I assume top companies want risk takers at the helm. Such severance packages seem to wipe out the risk. I would think companies would not only want top performers, but those who would see it as a priviledge, a challenge to lead such a company.

I made big mistakes in my life. I have one maxed out $1000 credit card, another $900 maxed out credit card, another $400 maxed out credit card, and another one that I owe $400 in. How do I pay for all this and get this straight? I work two jobs and live at home. I make about $720 a month. About how long would it take? Much appreciated.

I have no experience doing customer service and i 'm not really good with words. i have some skill in computers, graphics, and problem solving though, i'm not useless i would think(even if i'm nothing near professional). All the jobs in Newspaper ads or computer job site ads, need people with customer service or years of experience EVEN when they seem other wise easy to do.

My hubby is a mechanic, and had to buy literally $9,000 in tools for his job. My Q. is can we right them off without having to bypass the standard deduction, because we don't have enough to right off to reach the limit to make it worth it to us. So is there any other way to right them off?

I have heard from an alarming amount of people that they were advised by a tax firm or someone working for them that they can only claim two of their children on their tax return?
A taxpayer may only be eligible for Earned Income Credit for two children only, but the deduction for a dependent, child tax credit, and extra child tax credit may apply...

If so, follow the links on www.irs.gov, individuals, fraud.?
imho

Was just reading about the Senate capping tax-deferred executive compensation at $1 million to pay for the new round of handouts to businesses, and came up with an interesting concept.

It would seem to me that any business- big, small, incorporated or independent- at which an owner, executive or board member receives a compensation or severance package that exceeds $1 million is in no need of any additional tax breaks. Certainly, any business in this category that claims they'll have to cut jobs if the minimum wage is increased is lying; either they're swimming in cash or the executives are getting ready to bail out. Any additional tax breaks will not see their way to creating any more positions or increasing the base salary level; they'll just be funneled to those that are already millionaires. Why not pass legislation that, in addition to the proposal to cap tax-deferred earnings, would exclude any business that fits into this category from any additional tax relief or handouts?

I was really looking forward to a position in the company. I was even told they are considering me. I went on vacation then, and when I got back, they had already given the position to someone else. I am distressed. I no longer feel for this company. I feel betrayed. Shd I give them the real reason for resigning? I am at work, and I don't even feel like being here anymore. Suggestions please? I ended up crying at my desk.

I just started working for a large financial firm 3 months ago and hit my quarterly bonus which was about 1/4 of my total salary.

My company is going to withhold this money from me because I was still in the probationary employment period (90 days) when I achieved this bonus.

Should that matter or is it even legal?

The point is that I hit all my sales numbers and deserve this bonus. What should I do? I am very angry about all of this.

Okay, I've never had to do this because I've never had enough to deduct. Do I use the amount that I owe out-of-pocket and paid out-of-pocket for 2006. Or just what I've paid so far in medical expenses. Also my dad was sick and since I was next of kin I had to sign everything for him, can I claim those traveling expenses.

Hey, after waiting nearly 6 months for the state to issue me a realtor license (after background check and whatnot) I'm starting the interview process to see which agency's seem like a good place work out of.

I live near Salem, Oregon, 20, male. I consider myself relatively intelligent, but have no experience (besides the schooling) in the field, and nobody i know personally in the field...

Anyway, was wondering 1st if anyone has any experience with agency's in the salem area, but if not; perhaps, experience with any particular nationwide agencies.. Positive or negative feedback would be greatly appreciated. Also, what I should be looking for when interviewing different agencies? and lastly, I am considering working for an agency that specializes in property management (apartments, etc.), and if you have experience with a company of that nature, what light can you shed for me?

Honestly, just looking for any and all advice on the topic.
Thanks

I have a friend who has been unemployed for a few months. He was an attorney who gave up his pratice to tend to some family issues and never went back into practice. He has a back ground in real estate, criminal and labor law and has held various project management positions with a construction and contracting firm over the past six years. He doesn't know where to start looking for a job aside from sites like Monster.com, CareerBuilder.com, etc. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. He is very hungry, but somewhat discouraged as of late and I'd like to help him out.

I asked my boss if i could go and she said the i could go after all the customers have left. Than i called again after the customers have left and she would not call me and paged that we could all leave in 5 min which turned in to me leaving at 6:20 which made me late for my meeting. Are we not supposed to be asked to stay later not commanded to?
