I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN LAID OFF. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO SPEND ON GAS TO GET OUT AND RIDE AROUND AND JUST PUT OUT RESUMES. HOW DO YOU KNOW WHO IS NEEDING HELP AND WHERE TO GO TO APPLY FOR POSITIONS? I KEEP CHECK ON THE PAPER ADS AND THE UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE BUT WHERE I LIVE IT IS RARE THAT YOU WILL FIND ANYTHING IN THOSE LISTINGS. HOW DO YOU FIND WHEN AND WHERE TO GO SEEKING EMPLOYMENT? I HAVE MY RESUME ON 7 OF THE INTERNET JOB POSTING SITES AND THAT HAS NOT HELPED ME ANY. I HAVE EXPERIENCE IN MEDICAL INSURANCE, CREDIT REPORTING, FRONT OFFICE AT A DR, I HAVE BEEN AN PEROSNAL NURSE (BUT HAVE NO PIECE OF PAPER FROM A COLLEGE SHOWING I CAN DO THESE TYPE THINGS),I WORKED AT THE CREDIT BUREAU,PHOTOGRAPHY,GENERAL OFFICE ADMIN. I HAVE ALL KINDS OF EXPERIENCE BUT CAN'T SEEM TO FIND A JOB. I SIMPLY DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO SO HOW DO I KNOW WHO NEEDS HELP WITHOUT HAVING TO BURN GAS I CAN'T AFFORD? ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE GREATLY WELCOME. THANKS

Hi everyone. I e-filed my tax return last night via taxact.com. My taxes are fairly simple since I just use the standardized deduction. Anyway, today I received a 1099-INT from from bank of america for $27.62. I was honestly surprised by it. I plugged the $27.62 into my original return on taxact and it reduced my federal refund about $13 and my state refund about $1, but I already submitted my return electronically last night. I don't want to get in trouble with the IRS so what do I do now? Thanks in advance.

I am trying to learn as much as I can about personal finance, but I'm very much a beginner. My concern right now is picking a bank that better suits my needs.

Does anyone know of a good resource (website, book or otherwise) that can explain as clearly and completely as possible how to pick financial institutions, what to look for, etc...?

I'm especially interested in learning more about the differences between online and traditional banks, and how to use online banking.

In the past, my parents have used my identity (name, SSN etc.) to take out loans and credit cards. I only found out when looking at my credit report recently. I want to strike these items from my credit history, but I don't want to press charges because they're still paying my college tuition. I'm furious at them, but I think they did not entirely understand the severity of their actions. Is there anything I can do to clear the entries on credit history without pressing charges? Should I wait until I'm no longer a dependent of them?

that EMTI.PK has completed the test on their unit in Florida. I read in a stock chat that the tests are complete and they are getting ready to release the results next week. Has anyone heard anything like that? I can not validate that anyplace.

What are some good indications that the company you work for might be sold or bought out soon? I ask this because the company I work for has been doing some reorganization with the executive management that doesn't make real good sense to me or my co-workers. There have been some other weird stuff going on lately too. I just am wondering if we are being sold or bought out.

I went to an interview today, i wore a clollered shirt with a sweater over it, with some editor pants. All plain colors: Black pant, white collered shirt, and grey sweater. I noticed everyone was wearing solid and BORRING colors. Is it proper to wear maybe a business jacket with a hot pink collered shirt, or yellow shirt underneath?
Why did everyone have on such dull colors?

Growing up, my parents never bought anything they couldn't afford. Now, we're getting mixed signals from parents and peers. Buy the house now, the car, go take that cruise, etc. there are more people today that have either consolidated their debts or gone bankrupt. What do you think is the real cause?
