I have made about 37,000, i am head of household w/ 1 child. i also cashed a pension of about 3000. Not counting the pension I have paid about 4100 in federal taxes. Will I have to pay?

When I calculated it, I came up that you'll still get a refund. With $40K income, head of household, one child, you'd owe less in taxes than you paid in. That's before taking the child tax credit, and you can take that as long as the child is under 17 - you didn't say his/her age, so I didn't subtract it. That would increase your refund if the child is eligible.

You can't use a 1040EZ if you file as head of household or have a dependent, so ignore the other responder.
