I moved into this great place about six months ago. it's in an old, brick building built back in the 20s. I moved into the place because of it's old-timey looks, and the building has soooo much potential, but the landlords are real slums.

I had only one real problem when I moved in: The shower wouldn't stop leaking. After three weeks of calling the landlords every other day, I finally offered to get it fixed myself, which was thankfully deducted from my rent.

Since then, I've:
1) Recieved a fake eviction notice because their office manager stole their money instead of depositing it as paid rent (they only deal in cash or money orders)...I got that cleared up with receipts I've kept.

2) Got a letter from them telling me that if i didn't remove some of the items from my balcony (I'm on the first floor, mind you), that I'd be fined $100. A phone call fixed that problem.

3) Noticed that they never installed a smoke detector in this place.

What agency do I call to report them?

Hi,
This might sound a bit mad, but true. I just found out that I have inherited a software patent for search engines, and I have no idea how to go about trying to sell it - any ideas?

Thanks!

There are a few supreme court cases that say I really do not have to file for income tax on my labor, and I was wondering if I really need to file my taxes each year.
According to the 16th amendment, the government may tax all income but it does not define income. Supreme Court case Eisner v. Macomber the courts have defined income as "...levied on income derived from corporate earnings..."
Income I derrived from my labor is considered private property according to supreme court case Coppage v. Kansas and it states "...Included in the right of personal liberty and the right of private property-partaking of the nature of each- is the right to make contracts for the acquisition of property. Chief among such contracts is that of personal employment, by which labor and other services are exchanged for money or other forms of property...."
Another court case says that the 16th amendment does not cover IRS code: WILLIAM E. PECK & CO. v. LOWE , 247 U.S. 165 (1918). Is this all True?

I have always felt trying to get rich in MLM is like trying to cross the Atlantic in a canoe. While it may be possible, it may be the dumbest way to get across.

Considering all the ways to make money in this world, and considering the history of all the ways people have made money, MLM might be the at the very bottom of the totem pole.

I would bet more people have gotten rich merely saving a few hundred bucks a month in mutual funds than have in MLM (and probably a lot more secure too). Of course, MLMers will claim that MLM has produced more millionaires then something or other which is a total line of BS since there is no evidence of any of that.

Anyhow, always enjoy hearing the thoughts of others, even the biased MLMers themselves. Type on!

(as a last note, this is merely a thought provoking question. MLM is fundamentally flawed since you cannot expand past 30 levels with even a 2 by 2 downline structure - a canoe with no bottom perhaps ).

With the US government debt and liabilities out of control, is it conceivable that the dollar could collapse.

I have kind of a wierd question.
In our dept now at our corporation we recieve lots of Fed-ex packages addresed to different people in the plants. Part of our job in the recieving dept is to make copies of packing lists that these packages arrive with to make a recored that we did indeed get it. However, many (i'd say 80%) of the packing lists are accually inside the package. We were instructed to open these packages even though they are not adressed to us to get these packing lists. This is a new thing for us and my first question was Is that legal? I really don't know, and my boss seems really uninterested in that question. Does anyone know if this is legal or not?

My dad is 57 years old and he is having a hard time finding a job. He has a couple of degrees and says that his age and overqualifications are the reason he has been unable to get jobs.

There were a few instances where he was phone interviewed, got the job and when he finally went there, they let him go in a couple of days.

Does anybody have any suggestions, comments, or advice?

You could also talk about any experiences that you had.
