The economics of the movie industry won't let this happen.
The movie theater gets only about 10% of the ticket price -- the rest goes to the movie people.
The theater has to make its money from the profit from overpriced popcorn, soft drinks and huge candies.

One persons "affordable" is another persons expensive. Prices for anything at theaters are outrageous yet people still buy it. A nice Phili Cheese Steak for $6 would be great. Decent 12" pizza for $10. Great Idea.

I always liked the Theatres in Orlando Florida that had a full bar. We were more likely to go to a movie before we went out, or during their happy hour. So cool.
One had tables/chairs to eat on ( big overstuffed rolling chairs) and couches and coffee tables.
One in Omaha, NE serves the basics, is connected to a popular bar, and funnels all the bar patrons in with their midnight shows of some retro movie like the goonies, gremlins, indiana jones. Think movies that were popular in the childhood years of the bar patrons.

We have one in SLC UT they serve food and drink and have large chairs and table in front I love it best because NO kids allowed Called Brewvies
We also have a family on called Larry H Miller they have about 6 restaurants in the theater area

I would react by going there. But what the other poster said was right. The theatre doesn't get the whole ticket price and they need to price gouge to stay in business.

I have a hard time eating popcorn & soda in the dark, I can imagine the mess with real food.

It sounds absolutely wonderful, but Ronnie has a point. Also, it depends upon what "affordable" is.

fabulous!type in "raleighwood theatre,raleigh north carolina".see their website-this is a restaurant/theatre,u order during the cartoons and eat during the movie.the best date place in raleigh!people LOVE it!!!!!!!
