I am sending in a resume to a job, and I need to know what I should do with my cover letter. The letter is complete, so i'm not asking about the content. However, my problem is, I don't know the name of the person is that's conducting the hiring procedures. I contacted the human resources department, and the woman I spoke with told me that they receive the resumes and cover letters, and then just fax it to the department of the position i'm applying for. She told me to just address it to human resources. So, if that's the case, when I say Dear..... when beginning my cover letter, what would I put? Dear who? Do I put To Whom It May Concern: ? That sounds kind of stupid in my opinion. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should put, or should I just skip it altogether? I want to be polite and professional. Thank you!

I am almost finished with my degree in history and just found out that I can not get into the masters program without learning a language in the area of study. I am studying the Middle East and Third World Countries. I know that I will not be able to be fluent in one of these languages in time to go straight into the masters program, so my question is: What sort of job can I get while I am taking language cources that will allow me to get experience in my career field. I am wanting to do research.

I am retired from my former job. I want to start an in-home business on my own but have no income at the present. How can I get money without putting my husbands name on the loan? I want everything to be in my name. I want to consolidate all of my present bills (which are in my name) and get some extra money to pay for the supplies and etc that I need for my new business.

Hi guys, I just sold my condo, and I was curious as to what your opinion is regarding the way I should invest it. I am looking for a secure, nonliquid investment for about 1-1.5 years.

Thanks a lot.

OK I was wondering if you believe as I do that someone should at least have one bad day for this. No, I do not have an attitude, I am a dept head and have a college education. Never have I recieved a bad eval. quite the opposite! Her boss is her Aunt! Those are the only two above me, the policy book states family cannot supervise family, also my supervisor has been called in by corporate for calls they recieved about her abusive treatment,(verbal) you know a power thing. She has now met the friend that her Aunt wants to have my job and does not like her..another power problem..I wonder..Should I call corporate? My staff started a petition against all of this. Am I being a poor loser? should I just move on and forget it. Im not usually a person who seeks revenge, but she makes me want to start being one !! ya know? It has just happened this week so its real raw! I already have a better paying job thanks to connections in the field!

Unions typically fight for higher wages, better working conditions and better benefits for their employees. Unfortunately, companies see this as simply overhead. So, more and more companies are transferring the jobs overseas.

At the same time, unions are refusing to take wage cuts or lose benefits for their employees.

How will this stance by the union protect the workes and keep the jobs here?

I am to be named trustee for my aunt's inheritance. She makes less than $20K per year and has had some problems in the past managing money. The trust allows me some lattitude in making disbursements to her or for her benefit and am thinking of investing the entire amount in a balanced mutual fund (like the Vanguard Wellington fund) that invests in stocks (65%) with a healthy dose of bonds (35%). If historical rates of return are consistent with the past, I should be able to give her a little over $1,500 per month (with annual CP adjustments) without the money running out (assumming she lives into her mid 80's).

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I've been doing well at trading/investing in stocks/derivatives/forex (currency) and have been able to acquire a nice income and soon I plan to get involved in working with a hedge fund.

My one question is that, with all this money, what should I do? I'm not that materialistic?
