How do I cash in a check from Canada?

None of my banks will cash the check in because I don't have an account with them. And the one bank that I do have an account with...they told me that they had to send the check back to Canada and because of that they will take a good chunk out of the check to pay a fee....

Are there any other ways of cashing in this check? Ive been to Bank Of America and a credit union on the space coast here in Florida.

i had a second interview last week, i sent a thank you note also stating i would be waiting for their decision. It had been a week so i called to follow up on the status of my application. She told me "they were still looking at other candidates".....is that a sign that i'm out of the picture?

How do I deal with sneaky Ex and my taxes?

My ex and I had a messy breakup and just finished child support settlement. Last year he claimed our son on his taxes, although I couldve fought him over it. I let it go but this year I am definitely entitled to use our son on my taxes. He lives with me full time. My only problem is, my ex is very sneaky and since he claimed him last year, he has all the information he needs to do it again this year. Plus he's self employed so he has the opportunity to file before I get my W4s back. What happens if he claims him before I get my done? Will I loose my right to the credits?

who can someone contact to make a complaint on an insurance company?

I was involved in an automobile accident almost two years ago and we have been trying to settle the claim. We mailed in the paperwork accepting there offer and it has been almost two months and we have not heard anything from them. I have called many times to check on this and everytime they tell me that I need to speak with a certain person and I leave messages and he won't call me back. I was wondering if there was a certain bureau of investigation that I could turn this insurance company in to. They are very unperfessional and have not helped us in anyway. I would just like people to know how these people treat other people that they are supposed to be helping.

Credit Card Charges?

Quick question. I have a charge on my credit card that I do not recognize. I also do not have a receipt for it. Do merchants keep itemized receipts for purchases. For example, would I be able to get an itemized receipt from my credit card company listing everything for this purchase. By the way, it was a grocery store purchase.

How can my wife and I make a corporation for the business we will be starting owning an apartment complex?

My wife and I are buying a commercial property with 8 apartments, and will be living in one of them. We have read that there are tax benefits to making our own corporation and listing my wife as an employee of it so that the profits will go towards her social security eligibility and we will also save on taxes.

Is there anyone else out there who has done this before and knows the process? Are there any advantages or disadvantages that could help us make the decision? Any expert advice is appreciated. Thank you.

How can I find out how to do a payroll in NY State?

We have opened a corporation and have 1 employee right now. So I would like to do payroll on my own. Does anyone have any information on where I could start? I am familiar with taxes and income tax filing in other countries so it isn't all Greek to me. However I was looking for some specific sites etc for the US and specifically NY state that could get me started.
