I have taken a new job and have given my current employer 6 weeks notice. I'm on salary and my boss wants to hold back some of my pay to make sure every thing is in order after i've left. My integrity has never been questioned before and i hold a position of authority. I've been with the company 9.5 years and feel i'm getting a raw deal.

I am 26 years old and I don't have a credit score. I have unpaid medical bills on my report. They don't add up to much so I should be able to pay them off fairly easy when I have extra money. How can I get credit so that I can have a score? Every credit card that I wanted to apply to (that would even give me one) has all kinds of fees and doesn't seem worth it to me. I have student loans which I don't have to start paying back until I graduate (2009). Will these loans help improve my credit when I start paying them back? If so, what can I do now to get a credit score? I want to buy a house in the next couple of years but I need to build my credit first. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I am quitting my job in a week and my employeer owes me 2 months of salary, some travel expenses and comissions.
Today I was informed that they are going to pay me some amount, but not enough. They owe me more. What to do? How to proceed ? Where to report them? By the way, I am in CA.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ANY ADVICES!

Last year I signed a lease to help 3 of my friends. They moved into a 4 bedroom apartment and per stipulations from the property management, it required 4 lesees or else they would have to move into a smaller place, which the complex didn't have. I signed, but I repeatedly emphasized that I could NOT afford to move in. I was told not to worry, I was just a signature to help them keep their place. They said that they would pay in cash, or if I happened to be around (it wasn't often), they'd give me the cash so I could write a check. Either way it would be taken care of. I thought everything was okay, as they are responsible people. Then a few months later "I" was served with an eviction notice because "my" rent wasn't paid. I have a collections agency after me for $1000 debt that I wasn't supposed to have. I didn't know what to do then, and my 30 day window for dispute is gone. Now, I'm being told that there could be legal action involved, and possible garnishment. How can I fix this?

I have several medical accounts on my cresit report. I have always heard that medical bills do not hurt your credit. I am attempting to pay these off. I have paid off several of the smaller accounts. These still remain on my credit, they are now listed as closed. My question is...What can I do to raise my score. I have really been trying but my score actually has not gotten any better. Why? Also, is it better to pay the biggest account first, or send small payments to all accounts??

I have £150 per month which I can afford to put aside for my future. I am very concerned about investing in a pension. What other options do I have with this amount of money and which option would people advise that I take?

I wrote a post dated check that was to be cashed on the 6th of this month, They not only cashed the check 4 days prior- when i went in to speak to them they told me i would have to pay the late fee of $50, + the bounced check fee- for both parties- totaling $95.00.

So now they tell me that they cant accept any checks from me- and the rent is due at 12 by 12pm on the 1st, and no post dating of checks will be accepted.

So they want me to pay and addntl. 1200 bucks a year- is that at all legal???

While I putz around, I know I should learn some computer skills.

I want to learn Microsoft Office.
I can use Word and Excel and other programs, but I am not proficient. I would say that my skill level is somewhere between Intermediate and Beginner. I can get by, but I would like to have SERIOUS skills so that I can say, "YES. I know how to do that. No problem."

I need a tutor or a class. I want to learn to do all from beginning to end.

BTW Although I have a job, I feel that I need to make myself more marketable for the FUTURE. I won't always get away with just knowing a small amount. I happen to be employed by an undemanding person. I think i have to strike now. It seems that the iron is red-hot. THANK YOU TO ANYONE WITH ANY ADVICE.

The boss said he wanted to think about how much would be a good amount, and would get back to me.

Sometimes he's forgetful, so I'm wondering in what time frame I sould gently remind him to look into that if I don't hear anything about it. A week? Two weeks?

As long as you make less than 60,000 a year you should be exempted from taxes. But I'm wondering if the IRS will try to penalize me for not filing every year. I'm thinking of filing now, I'm still overseas, but I don't want to start receiving letters stating that I have to pay penalties.
Anyone have any experience with this?

All of my bosses don't wake up and give me work until mid to late afternoon. When I tell them I've been here since 9:00 a.m., they look at me like I have two heads. They know I prefer to stay busy but it does no good to keep telling them year-after year. I would change my hours and work later but most offices like the 9-5 shift. I know some offices have flex hours but not my place. My luck, I would change my hours to work 3-11 if I could and they would still not bring me work until 10:30 p.m. What's wrong with these guys anyway? Is it a control thing or are they all just procrastinators?
