Your parents are planning to retire in 18 years. They currently have $250,000, and they would
like to have $1,000,000 when they retire. What annual rate of interest would they have to earn
on their $250,000 in order to reach their goal, assuming they save no more money?

This measure would levy new state tax on certain oil and gas leases overlying large deposits of natural gas. When a major gas pipeline system is built and gas is transported, resource tax will be repealed and leaseholders will become eligible for tax credits for some of these taxes previously paid, which could be used to reduce future production taxes.

I know all this has to be written and I know that it needs the consent of the people on the deed but my question is if I do get consent and it is written, and my name is added to the deed, will that allow me to be part owner of the property as well? Am I allowed to then refinance the home in just my name without my mom and dad so I can claim the interest and taxes that I'd pay on the property? I understand that they'd still be owners of the house but I just want to make sure I am also considered an owner. Can this all be done at the county recording office as far as getting my name added? Thanks.

I have seen stock trades in quantities of 100 or 200 shares on a stock trading at 4 or 5 cents. It doesn't make any sense? The person buying the shares is probably spending more on commission than on the stock?

Over the past year I have begun doing print work and promotional events for various name brands. In the course of my travels, I've become aware that things such as make-up, dry cleaning, salon vists, etc. as well as certain other items can be written off come tax time because they are job related. Just to school myself, I wondered where I could find a list of such items so I could be aware when documenting receipts and other information come April.
