Still waiting for Dell check nine months,said it will take 9 to12 wks.I forgot all about it,now they say it's to late,is this how these crooks make their money,Best Buy tries not to use Rebates because customers have actually come in to stores demanding their Rebates,why do some good companies use this practice ?

Ask for a Raise? Business unit is doing horrible, but I'm finishing an advanced degree.?

I'm finishing my masters degree which is sponsored by my company, and I'm obligated to stay one year after my degree. I've been working here for 2.5 years, and I'm considered a top performer. The business unit I'm working at is doing horrible. Moral is extremely low. Budgets and projects are being cut everywhere. It seems that the only way for me to progress is to apply for other positions at other sites. However, I do not wish to move. Would I be out of line to inquire about possible career progression (raise).

I have a gift certificate and the business has changed owners, do they still have to accept it?

I live in California if there California laws to help me. I got the gift certificate from my mom which she got it from her workplace. The restarunt has recently changed owners. It has no expiration date, not to mention a date it was issued so it cant expire. It is in the same location and still is called by the same name as if it never changed owners. Under law do they have to accept it? What are my options? I will even call the BBB monday to see what they can do.
