I'm curious. Basically, people are saying that given only my undergraduate degrees- Economics and History--from the number one public university in the nation--Berkeley (and ranked top 5 in the world)--I will generally be unemployable.

I don't want to sound full of it, but what about everyone else who goes to sh*ttier universities with other majors?

Am I really going to be unemployable or are people just being harsh?

What are the legal options for a check used for payment that is returned NSF (Not sufficient Funds).

If one can assume the person writting the bad check knew it would not clear the bank, is this a civil matter or a criminal matter.

Other then resubmitting the bad check to see if it clears, what legal otions are appropriate?

That's what one poster said.

I am going to graduate from the number one public university in the nation--Berkeley, with degrees in Economics and History. GIven, history is worthless, but Economics?

What's up with that?

I know it's time for me to quit my current job. I've already started the job search process, and things are looking very promising. Trying to go on interviews is a challenge though while I'm still with my current employer. My boss is used to me never taking any time off. I don't really want to rush into another job, but would rather take some time to find the right job this time. My motivation is dropping quickly at my current job, and that adds to stress I have there. I don't like to give less than 110%. I know this is bad, but I'm just at that point.

My question is this...How much does it really hurt you to resign with your current employer without having a firm offer on the table somewhere else? Or, how do I regain motivation until I get a firm offer, so that I don't get canned! Thanks

I am looking to get out of renting, and my lease is up in almost 3 months. (end of Dec). Question 1. When should I start looking for a mortgage, to be preapproved or prequalified? Question 2: what is the real difference between preapproved and prequalified? Question 3: I have been looking online and most free mortgage searches have a thirty day lock. Does that mean I have to find a house and close in thirty days? Good HELP PLEASE and THANK YOU! All online help say the same thing but I am not really understanding when I should actually grab a mortgage.

I'm going to graduate from the University of California, Berkeley soon with double degrees in Economics and History. My ultimate goal is to go to law school, but I want to work on the East Coast for a couple years.

Any advice on what kind of employment I should get? Best companies? What can I do with my degrees? What is it like living/working in NYC?

I've been hearing about this, where realtors make you take most of your furnishings out, and this decorator person rents furniture to bring in so the house sells for more.

Now, I'm looking at the local real estate ads, and I'm looking at a living room that clearly looks staged.

Would you trust that if you were looking for a house? I'd want to see how the owners used the space, not a random hired decorator.

Opinions?
