I know your pissed and I don't blame you... These rebates lure us in and it's up to us to make sure they are honored by the company... you'ld think they would have a special dept. that made sure their rebates were issued in a timely manner. But... that would cost them money to staff that dept... yeah... they make more money when we don't get the rebates... a big bonus for them... I just bought a new laptop last week with $350.00 in rebates and believe me I intend to stay on them until I get every dime back... It's sad but it's our job to keep up with it.

I had the same problem when I bought McAfee Anitvirus at Future Shop. I had a list of things to send for the rebate. I sent all those things and photocopied the list. I was sent a letter saying that I had neglected to send 1 item. I consulted my copy of the list and it wasn't on it. Dealing with companies throughout the years, I have found the attitude consistent with businesses in general. If I persisted, I only ended up feeling humiliated and blameworthy, so I was reluctant to persist in the McAfee Antivirus matter. Reasonably, these companies have the greater burden, since they are supposed to know their business, and yet, they consistently place the greater burden on customers. I know companies that are exceptions - companies whose policies are to please the customer first. The owners and managers of such companies prove to be honest and forthright people in their lives as a whole. This qualifies my belief that these exceptions should represent the moral and ethical standards that are expected of businesses in general.

Not all companies do rip-offs. I happen to work for Cingular Wireless, and I very seldom hear of people not getting there rebates back and when they don't, and they come in the store Cingular makes great efforts to work with them on getting there money back. Places like wirefly where you supposedly get "free" razr phones do that a lot though.. never return rebates.

Dell is just a crappy company all together. I got a lap top from them and straight out the gate I had nothing but problems.

I have used rebates for cell phones and couple other electronics and gotten my money.

I think people do not realize that they have to mail it in.

Most of the time, you never get them. They figure that you will forget about it after awhile. I returned a digital camera because I was supposed to get a big rebate and it never came. I think they should be discontinued because most of them are bogus.
