I'm really scared, here... someone called, without leaving much info, and hung up. I called back, and hung up after I couldn't make out what they were saying. I looked up the number, and have found all this documentation saying that it is a scam, but no real way to see how much I'm going to be charged... help!!!

I'm just starting out with establishing my credit. I tried to get store credit cards etc but every time they decline because I haven't a sufficient credit history, or references. How can i establish credit and is it true that a pre-paid credit card is a good way to start?

In one of my job interviews:

Why didn't you finish med school? It's not really my choice, it was my parent's dream,it was them who funded it, and i realized i didn't like hospital work.

Why are you applying as a CSR instead? Because i wanted to earn my own money, not relying on my parents, and i think i have the communication and the decision making skills required for this kind of job.

What is your career path? i take things one day at a time, but i want to have a stable job, in a stable company.

( well i didn't get the job on this interview, what went wrong?)

I worked for the company for a year as GM. A new VP came on board, invested into the company. Suddenly, I was getting treated harshly, being made the scapegoat, etc... Prior to this, I was praised openly, contributed to the bottom line, and was given a raise. After my 'release', they continued to bad-mouth me when background checks were conducted, I have written proof which I requested. They cited "poor performance", which I can easily refute. My sales were higher than anyone else, turned dead accounts into cash cows, and got a raise. EDD also determined the reason they gave for my release was not correct. They also owe me commisions. I lost a $150k annual job opp because of these jerks. Owner has a history of former employers taking him to court, and he has ALWAYS lost. Bottom line, this guy is evil. Can I sue?

The interviewer is a man, just for the record. (And yes, it does matter. Women interviewers will often hire someone that looks dowdy over someone who looks more sophisticated. Why? I won't even answer that, haha. You already know.) But anyway, what are your suggestions?

im a 43 year old single mother that has childcared my whole life. My daughter is going to be 18 pretty soon and I want to find another job when she moves out. I went to school for Early Childhood Education, but I have no experience in anything else. I want to do something exciting that I like, but ive gone over and over career ideas and nothing clicks. It seems like Im not interested in anything. (as pathetic as that sounds) I have no talents, Im really not good at anything that I can make money from. My self esteem is horrible because I feel like a 16 year old with no work experience. I dropped out of school when I was 17, though I did go back and get my GED. Any advice on what I can do with my life and make a living? I really dont want to work at Mcdonalds.

I have a business that deals with work contracted out. I currently use quickbooks but I was hoping to find something to suit my needs better. We do drawings of lots for several bulders. They are all differnt subdivisions with many lots. We have to bill a seperate invoice for each lot. This adds up to thousands of invoices over a short period. I need to be able to find that invoice easily by the lot number and subdivisions. Any good suggestions?

I am sure I am not the first to try this approach. It's based on the formula that every time you increase your principle by1 percent, then every time you do this 100 times, your principle will be double. so if you average 1 percent gain on selling a stock, and you do this 20 times a day then your principle will double every 5 days.

I imagine there is something similar to this that day traders try to do. I know you will never consistently make one percent on every trade, but if you average that, then it still works out. Gaining one percent on a stock isn't that hard, is it?

I bought my house 14 years ago, as I go to sell my neighbor tells me a portion of my driveway and backyard are encroaching on his land. He has a survey showing this and I am getting my own survey to validate., however if I give him this land, my driveway is unusable. This driveway has been the same since the house was buiult 45 years ago. I did not have a survey when I bought the house but have a title insurance policy.

I have no knowledge of the US tax system and the last thing I want is to owe huge taxes at the end of the year. To complicate matters, I am also a Resident Alien - I have a green card so I would like to do things legit. So what can I write off, how to I do it, who does it work? e.g. say I spent $10 on paint, does that mean I have to pay $10 less tax? PLEASE HELP!

I have been trying to get my money back out of these a*******. I call and cancel and they bill me some more. They don't send anything and then they charge you. They also try to enroll you in some program called Living Essentials where they also try to charge your credit card. I may have to cancel my card to get it to stop. I am just wondering if there are others out there who have been taken, too. This company needs to be shut down.

I know that this is a subjective question, but let me know what you think: my headhunter told me that, when in a job interview, that if you're asked what salary you're looking for (management level), you should try not to give an actual number, and instead, be vague and say things like, "I'm interested in a salary that would be comensurate with my experience and this position" etc, etc.... What are your thoughts? I'm afraid if I don't give a concrete answer, I may come across as not a team player, or difficult, despite my otherwise friendly, easy-going demeanor.
