Essentially I have made the decision to start studying for the CFA exam. I am currently working as a Forensic Accountant but looking to get into the finance industry and out of typical accounting. I have talked to friends in the finance industry and a couple have suggested studying for both the CAIA and the CFA. Has anyone done this and also what books would you suggest? It seems the Schweser guides are popular, do I need to also get additional books for the CFA. As far as the CAIA I have not seen much in the way of books. BTW I am planning to sit for the CFA in June 2006 and with my girlfriend a full time first year law student I have the time and motivation to study and do something with myself. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

...implementing "The Team Concept" in the work place?

We all know that team building in the work place, primarily in the industrial sector does not and will not never work, and many time refered to as "A Bunch of Bull....." . When the team concept was introduced in the Mid 80's Upper managers new this from the start. So... why would they spend thousands and sometime millions in training (Brain Washing) the employee to this concept? The true reason lays behond! WHAT IS IT?

Just got new mortgage on house. Credit score in May was high 680 (not great ut not horrible). Went online to check score last week and now at 560!! No negative credit information whatsoever. No late pays or collections. I do carry high balances on credit cards and that is why I have never been over 700 but I don't understand this. I talked with customer service rep at Equifax and she looked at my credit report and couldn't explain it either. What do I do???

I want to start my own retail clothing store, I've hear that there are great suppliers in L.A., Ca and Dallas, Tx. Does anybody know where are these places located? I'm wonder if they have a web page to do some research before I actually go there. Any suggestions?

to a new one even though it is basically the same company now. for instance and ATT cell phone that cut off due to a sister in law adding phones without consent and having an $800 bill over 2 years ago and now having a Cingular cell phone for the same period since the phone got cut off? Nothing has ever been said and I have fought with ATT for 2 years now. I have had Cingular for those 2 years and now they are saying they are going to add that bill to my current one. Can they do that? Should I make ATT Send me the signed contracts or what can I do this is BS if you ask me cause I thought it was taken off my account because it was actually hers.

I went to an interview Monday, then they asked to come back for someone else to interview me on Wednesday. On Wednesday they told me they'd have a decision on Friday. On friday they called me telling me if I could go to a third interviews. This Monday they called me telling the third interview would be on Today, but they'd called me back to tell me at what time. It's Today, I haven't heard from them, what should I do? I don't have their number, they just call me to the my cubicle phone which doesn't have caller ID. I really want to get out of this place.

What can I do?

HI there this is my second question. I have tons of (6yrs) experience IT systems for Fiancial markets, i have worked on a derivative/ equity trading floor. I am taking CFA Level 1 next june.
what are my options, how do i decide.
In terms of IT i dont know and i dont want to know any coding.
In markets, i love trading desk's, i love coming up with stock pics or derivaties stratergies. I have extremely good analytical abilty
but i dont like the phone, i cant make sales pitches.
whats my best choice, i would even consider ending up as a protfolio manager some day.
i need some one to guide me and explain my options, evaluate my strenghts and weaknesses and tell me my best course of action.
im 25 now, so i have time on my side.
from my current position the next logical step would be a Business Analyst in the IT dept of a large broker.
i can get that easliy pays about 75-80K but im not sure whether i want to go that deep into IT or not. PLEASE HELP CANT SLEEP BECOS OF THIS DILEMA!

I am a graduate student and I am 33 years old. The only information I can locate is geared towards young students. I have a crippling amount of credit card debt but I am currently enrolled in a graduate program and I am eligible for enough excess student loan money to pay off the credit card debt. I realize this is simply "moving debt" but student loans are far more forgiving, can be delayed until after I graduate, and carry only a fraction of the interest rate. Why would I not borrow the maximum allowable amount on a student loan, and apply it towards high interest credit card debts now? Anyone have any ideas? Much appreciated!
