Suppose you sign a contract with a seller to purchase a house. With that contract in hand, you start marketing the property (place ads, conduct open house, send emails, etc). You then find a buyer, and do a double closing.

While this is a typical transaction made by hundreds of real estate investors every day, some people argue that you can't market a house that you don't yet own, because you would be acting as a real estate agent and you need a license for that.

Does the fact that you have a valid contract allow you to market a property for sale without breaking real estate agency laws?

If a company is trying to recruit more investors without affecting the owners equity section of their financial statement (especially retained earnings), which option is the better option? 20% stock dividend, a 100% stock dividend or a 2-for-1 stock split? And why?

Ok i have a question about a buisness. My husband works for an earth moving company(minig, construction type deal)Anyway his boss who is the owner of the company makes them sign papers stating that if they break something while they are on the job they have to pay for it (the workers) They also have to sign a paper saying that they have to buy their own tools for the job. On the paper its says that it will automatically be deducted from their paycheck. Can he do this? Is this legal? The boss also stops by our house alot to borrow tools he needs when my husband isnt working cause he doesnt have them. That i really dont think its fair cause he says (the boss) they have to buy their own tools for the job.Why doesnt he have his own tools? Im wondering because my husband broke a handle off a tractor and now we get 200 $ taken off our check every month until it reaches 4000.00 What does everybody else think? And what can i do about this? The area that we live in doesnt have that many job opportuni

I'm in the process of starting a clothing line. I have a name and logo that has gotten very enthusiastic reviews from the trusted people that I have shared it with, which is where my problem lies. I don't have the money yet to register a trademark, and my question is: how necessary is it to do this now? I know about the extra protection and convenience that having a registered mark provides you, but I still want to know if I could bring the line out before getting a registration, in hopes of making the money I need, then filing for it when I'm more able to do so.

I know this venture would be considered a small business and a recording studio is in high demand in my community. In this facility I would also like to provide other items to sale, that would also intrigue a recording artist. I would appreciate any and all advice.

I know it's a vague question, but let's say you had £5,000 and wanted to know the best way of investing money to:

a) see a quick return
b) have a safe invetsment
c) see the greatest return

i know that no one method can satisfy all three of these points, but it would be interesting to know if anyone has had any positive / negitive experiences investing money.

What would you name a company that makes hip, easy to use devices for browsing the internet and making internet calls using audio and video.

Go crazy. Think of something really creative and unusual.
