I know this venture would be considered a small business and a recording studio is in high demand in my community. In this facility I would also like to provide other items to sale, that would also intrigue a recording artist. I would appreciate any and all advice.

The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* The Savvy Studio Owner: A Complete Guide to Setting Up and Running Your Own Recording Studio by John Shirley, Richard Strasser
* Make Money with Your Studio: Setting Up and Operating a Successful Recording Studio by Tom Volinchak
* The Studio Business Book, Third Edition by Mitch Gallagher
* How to Build A Small Budget Recording Studio From Scratch: With 12 Tested Designs (TAB Mastering Electronics Series) by Michael Shea

I also posted links to some free articles in the source box.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

do no longer problem approximately what it feels like on the pc audio think of or ur telephone, reason once I checklist with that or my sister does then it consistently sounds rubbish. i think of it stands out as the usual of the mic, or perhaps the interference. in case you had to surely checklist professionally and hear the type you're voice surely sounds, then the only way is two checklist in a recording studio. yet i comprehend from my very very own journey that attempting to get an attainable recording studio isn't hassle-free! besides, you pronounced which you're boyfriend likes listening to you sing, and he would not decide for u 2 sing 4 him if u weren't that stable, might he? So don't be discouraged by utilising the pc audio or telephone recording, coz they are consistently muffled! desire I Helped!!! xxx stable luck! ;)

maybe you could check at the library and see if there is any info on that particular business. or if you know of any small studio's that would be willing to answer a few questions, that would really help. i was in business for myself, and i know that sometimes business's don't want to tell you alot if you're close in proximity to where they are, because then you're considered competition. so if you could find a phone book for a city that's far from where you are, people would be more open to helping you. i live up in the hi-desert, and there are some very small studios that have done some recording for some very big names. alot of times well known people want to be in out of the way places, so they have more privacy. good luck and God bless, i pray for success in your venture.
