Does anyone know what type of calculation is used when a payment plan is calculated. I need an idea of what kind of repayment plan I am looking at. I make approx 50K and have approx. 13000 worth of debt. And - how do they decide if it is going to be spread out over 3 or 5 years ... any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I own the stock on the day the dividend is declared effective, can I sell the stock before the actual day of payment and still receive the dividend or must I actually hold the stock until it's in my account. Thanks

My fiance n I r looking 2 purchase a home before gettin married in Dec; he's lookin 4 a second job n I'm also lookin 4 employment. We r trying 2 save but money is tight n we don't have the best credit in the world, so I am not so hopeful about applying 4 a loan. I hear that there r agency's that give grants 2 1st time buyers 4 the down payment n closing costs such at the Fannie Mae Foundation so what r some good suggestions 4 us?

A friend has his ex's stepbrother, wife, and child living with them. No lease, they are sharing his private home and paying rent. Things have not worked out, he has asked them to leave with over 30 days notice. The deadline is approaching and they have told him they aren't going anywhere. This is, of course, very grating on his and his own child's nerves. Does he need to go through a formal eviction process?

I'm interested, especially if you work/invest in this area and have a good idea about what is going on in the industry, mostly U.S. Who are the major players? Where is the best area? Does it have a future? If so, what obstacles must it overcome?

I went into the branch about a month ago and the teller said I had the old type of checking account and they have a newer version with no extra fees or anything and asked if I would like to convert it over. I said sure, as long as there are no strings attached and he said there weren't. Then out of nowhere, my wife gets a Bank of America Visa card sent to her with a $7500 limit that neither her nor I ever asked or applied for. We called B of A and they said it was requested the same day we were in the branch. In other words, we were scammed. The reason we are concerned is because we are about to apply for a mortgage. Overall, my wife and I have good credit scores (around 700) but we have some high credit card balances. Without this new card, our balances are about 65% of out total limits. With the new card, our balances will be about 40% ouf our limits. Is this going to hurt our mortgage application or not? Should we cancel the card?

I am looking into consolidating my bills.

I have 4 credit card bills with average 9% interest. There is about 10,000 dollars of debt.

Do you think it is a good idea to consolidate it into a home equity, where my house is collateral or leave it as CC debt where no house collateral for an average of 3% lower interest?

Both me and husband have steady jobs, don't plan on loosing them. But is we were to get hurt or something we would loose them and that would probably hurt our ability to pay.

I like the idea of only paying one bill, but not sure if it is the right thing to do....

Say there is a situation in which someone is very likely to die at some point soon and knows it. Say they have a fair amount of assets and also a fair amount of debts (which do not have collateral attached to them). I know that if they die as is then their assets would be used to pay off their debts and what remains would go to their heirs. I'm wondering, could the person give away their assets to their heirs before death such that when the person dies, the lenders would end up getting almost nothing? That way I figure the heirs could get more while the lenders lose out. I'm wondering if this is possible or if there's something that would prevent one from being able to do this.

I know that everybody in this world wants to do something good. But do you think donating money can serve the purpose.

I am confused about it. It may be due to imbalance in the system that, let people get extra money which they do not even care. And at the other hand the people who need it, they do not get opportunity to earn it.
