First, go and buy or borrow a cassette recorder with a rubber suction phone recorder. Attach this to your phone. When the collector calls, turn it on and allow it to record for a second. Ask them to hold on, rewind the tape a bit, then say, " I am recording this phone call, " then play a bit of the conversation. Then say, " I am telling you not to ever call my house again. If you want to communicate please do so via the mail."

Regardless of their demeanor, a creditor cannot harass you. If informed to not contact you by phone, they cannot. All future correspondence will have to be done via mail.

Try changing your phone number. It does work, trust me. Make sure its unlisted from now on,and only give it to people who you want to give it to.
