This is very important, since you are fixing to be scammed. Do not give any money, do not supply your bank's name or account #'s. If you won something, then have them send it. Winning is free, so don't pay anything back to receive even more. The check will not clear. If it is money, then have them send you a certified bank draft or bank check. NEVER SEND MONEY FOR MONEY!! Once received, go to your bank and talk with the manager explaining what has taken place and have them verify the funds/check whether it is valid.

Adding to a previous poster's answer: even if the bank verifies the funds, wait a couple of weeks after depositing the check before relying on it. There are ways to "game" the system so that the bank clears the check but it still bounces farther down the line.

Also, as others have said, if anyone is asking you for money at any point in this transaction, it's probably a fraud. Even if they are telling you to deposit the check, wait for the funds to clear, and then give someone "their cut" or something like that, it's likely a fraud. The advice to speak to the bank manager is quite good.

It's probably a fraud. Don't give them any credit card or bank account numbers.
