This has become...rather irritating. I've check through the mail and I picked out the monthly check that I get from the US Treasury...from Philidelphia, PA.

It's signed like this, by address(sorry, but I'm going to be a tad confidential):
[To my mother for me]
[The Address of my home]
[San Diego, CA. Some Zip Code]

The problem is, how/where can I cash it in at without having my mother being involved? I wanna cash it myself! >_<

What can I write in my follow up fax that will get me results..... These GCs want the subs to expidite the changes, but won't help out by pressing the issue for signed change orders.

I've earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management w/ a minor in Advertising. I am also a passionate artist with limited to no professional experience, only freelance projects: Makeup, Set Design, Wardrobe Styling, Interior Design, Fashion Design. I am eager to start a new career now but it seems that I am caught between "no extensive professional experience" & "no specialized formal education" & it has become difficult to find real work. I need guidance as to how I can begin a creative career without returning to school or doing an internship. I feel like I am stuck in the "credit" fog: you can't get credit without credit.

For my entire career as a contractor, I have worked on a W-2 basis. Recently, I was offered a contractor job, but they will hire me only if I agree to a 1099 basis. As someone who has never dealt with this form of compensation/tax before, what are some things that I need to consider if I accept this job? For example, how much paperwork would I need to fill out for tax purposes (mileage, business lunches, business travel, etc.)? Also, if they do not withhold any taxes from my paycheck, then what percentage of my pay should I set aside for tax season?

Thank you.

I finally admit to myself that I am in a violent relationship in a visious cycle of abuse. I need to get out. My boyfriend and I have a truck together. I do not want to be responsible for a vehicle that is in his hands. I want to cut all ties, before he kills me.

I have heard that there are property's that you can buy that are bank repos. Can someone give me some real legitimate answers. I'm very serious about finding a fixer-upper. Who do I contact ? Is there only specific times that these property's are available?

I have been renting my house for 8 months now, and Friday I recieved a letter saying that my lease expires on the 31st of this month!! Now I KNOW I signed a 1 year lease, that would make my expiration in December. But in the letter, it said that when/if i renew my lease my rent would by $425 for the first 6 months and $450 for the remaing 6 months. I am paying $350 right now for it!!
I haven't talked to my rental company, seeing how they gave the letter to me on Friday, but I have a feeling that they are trying to screw me cuz they know that I lost my copy of my lease!! I have looked everywhere for it but I think it got thrown out!
I question is, if they are trying to screw me and I don't have a copy of my lease, can i legally do something about it?? Since I know it would be my word against theirs??
Please help me!! I can't afford to move but I can't afford to pay $450!!

I have had about five years of terrible luck financially. I had a local reader ready my tarot cards and was told that I a woman and a man put a spell on me so that God would not hear my prayers and that I would not prosper financially. A cross was carved into a tree upside down with my name on it by these two people. the reader said that it would cost about $300.00 to remove the spell

I'd like some advice regarding how to describe the work/skills involved with being an "extra" in a movie...

(Don't worry, the movies were "The Breakup" & "Legally Blonde II." They weren't anything weird...)

Anyway, I'm having some difficulty figuring out what to write because I want it to sound a little better than "I stood around all day, moving on & off the set, & pretending to clap/dance/bowl/etc."

Note: This is for a legal job - so it has to sound good : )

Thanks so much!

PS I apologize for posting this question again, but I didn't realize that there was a forum for questions about employment (duh!)
