Blue from American Express is a great credit card for getting cash back. Chase Free Cash Rewards Visa Card is also a great card to consider. You can earn 5% cash back at supermarkets, gas stations, and drugstores. For example, if you spend $5000 a year buying grocery at supermarkets you will be eligible for a $250 check. http://www.iapplyforcreditcards.com/cash-back-credit-card.php

Chase Travel Platinum Visa Card is very nice card for getting airline miles and other travel rewards.

You pay for "rewards" with higher interest and fees. It is like the offer of someting "free" if you just pay shipping and handling. The seller still makes a "Profit". I love bank of America and use their low interest credit cards for the super rich only. I don't need expensive fees or rewards or interest. Without these added expenses you have a better chance of keeping up with payments.

Credit card are stupid, they say they are going to give you a reward, but by the time you are done you really do not get anything. You are going to go spend 5,000 on your card to get what 10% back or to get so much for airline miles. Credit cards are just a way to keep people in debt. Listen to Dave Ramsey. I used credit cards, mine was just supposed to be for emergencies. Now I am in credit hell And sent to collections. Mine were only for emergencies too.

There are lots of different types of reward credit cards. But here are my thoughts.

Cash Back - The best ones have just been discontinued. The Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card and the Chase Cash Plus Rewards Card used to have the best features - paid 5% rebates on groceries, gasoline and drugstore purchases. These are have been discontinued. Currently, the best cash back card is the Blue Cash from American Express. It pays 5% rebates on supermarket, gasoline and drugstore purchases and 1.5% on other purchases. You have to spend above $6,500 in your annual spending to earn these rebates. Before that you earn 1% and 0.5% respectively.

Reward Cards - Your choice of reward cards depend on the type of rewards you like.

For those who are members of a few frequently flyer program, the membership rewards is probably the most appropriate program. The American Express Gold Card will probably be suitable.

Those who want to earn free airline tickets, do not mind which airline they fly, do not want blackout dates may want to consider the Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards Card or the Chase Flexible Rewards Card. The Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards Card allows you to earn 5 points for every dollar you spend on supermarket, gasoline and drugstore purchases. Hence, spending just $5,000 on these items can earn you a free airline ticket.

The Chase Flexible Rewards is unique because you require less points for a free airline ticket if you choose continental airlines. You can also transfer points to United Mileage Plus Miles.

Cash Back for travel

One of the drawbacks of a reward credit card with its own reward program is that they impose some restrictions when you use points to book your travel rewards. Most require you to book your tickets 21 days in advance and some require a Saturday night stay!. You also cannot book flights with stopovers. Almost all credit card reward program requires that you book your tickets through an "in-house" travel agent. If you are a last minute traveller or simply do not like these restrictions, then you will like the Blue Sky from American Express. With this card, you can use any travel agent (even internet agents) to book your travel arrangements and get the best deal. You then use your points to get a credit on your next statement at a rate of 7,500 points for $100 (ie more than 1%).

Alternatively, the Chase BP Visa Card allows you to earn 2% cash rebates on travel and dining expenses. If you prefer to earn cash rebates on travel, this may be a card to consider.

Bank of America Power Rewards

You asked about this card and reward program. One of the attractive features about this card is that if you want a free airline ticket and it is a short haul flight and (within a designated zone), you only need 20,000 points for a free airline ticket, compared to 25,000 points. However, the travel rewards are very limited. On their website, there is only free airline tickets for flights within continental US. If you want to fly from US to Hawaii or to Europe, this is not the card to get. The shopping rewards are comparable to major credit card reward programs.

Hope this helps

It depends on your credit score, do some research to find the best deal/rates. Sometimes going through your own bank is the way to go not only because of benefits but because its so much easier to handle if you have online banking.

It really depends on YOUR credit. Most credit are basically the same. However the better your credit, the better rewards you will be offered.
