this has been mentioned by several televangelists.

what the actual statement is:

the united nations, under the kyoto accord (which clinton and bush II will not sign) states that the united nations will retain control over the state and federal reserves, waterways and other "environmental" assets of it's member nations, to include the united states.

while this might actually be a good thing (i dont think it is) since we seem to screw up our resources, it allowed united nations troops to patrol and secure the resources.

it would also allow the united nations to be the final approval or disaproval authority for utilization of these natural resources and govern how the resources COULD be distributed to other member nations.

In reality there is no such thing as UN troops. Whenever 'UN troops' are sent anywhere, the force is made up of whatever troops member nations are willing to place under UN command. In order to have its own troops, the UN would have to have citizens, which it does not.
