What is the advantage of hiring a lawyer for 1,000 dollars to file for bankruptcy? Why not just stop paying all of my bills and let the creditors file? In both cases, my credit will be destroyed anyway.

I have a bunch of medical receipts over the last couple of months. I want to take full advantage of the flex spending account when I start my new job. Will receipts dated prior to my start date be accepted for reimbursement or will only those receipts after the start date be okay? Thanks

the amt owed is always a different number (I'm supposing tacked on fees etc...). Initially the debts were about $3000 on each card ...now they are showing up 6 and 7000. From what i can tell there are 2 collection agencies trying to collect on the same debt on one of them. i have never responded to any of the agencies in any matter. My credit report is skewed with inaccuracies based on these credit agencies. ie....the dates show up as when the agency takes on the debt., amounts vary etc... The question is what to do. I was going through a tough time...divorce etc...but i am now in a position to pay off everything.

Many books and articles talk about the best investments for people who are relatively close to retirement, but do not give as much guidance for people who are a couple of decades away.

The company I work for switched from a PEO (place of employment organization (where technically I worked for this group in order to get better benefit) to a standard payroll company so now I technically work for my employer. The payroll company has a different 401K company that we now work through but the loan won't transfer over. The financial agent says it's a Trust to Trust so it won't go over. He says in the eyes of the financial world I quit one job and started working at another. He suggests I borrow the money from someone to pay the origional loan and then take a loan once the money transfers and then pay that person back. Or just let the loan default and let the company keep the money (along with taxes and pentalites). Is this right? If I didn't do anything why should I get screwed?

I was requested by a reputable listed company in Australia to photocopy my credit card and signing a authorisation form to authorise them to make monthly deduction from my card. I was told by them that it was meant for their auditing purposes.

I need to subscribe their services due to their worldwide presence. If paying by other mode besides a credit card, I will need to give them a deposit which I doubt the recovery might be years later or never!

Anyone have any suggestions how do you handle such situation?
