Well, my first reaction was: "Why not?'" Then I thought about it for a little more. There is no problem being friends with your boss, whether they are a man or woman. Just remember that contrary to your regular friends, there might be consecuences to your stupidity (I am not calling you stupid, but you know that we all do and say stupid things once in a while, especially around our friends) You have to remember that first and foremost she is your boss. Never deny anyone the chance to be your friend. Just remember to be careful.
Good Luck â

It is a Good idea to be Friends with Your BOSS, NO matter what they are.. It is usually easier to work with someone you get along with and it always helps if the BOSS knows your name.

I think it is OK, but it may be a good idea to discuss the boundaries of the relationship both in and out of work with her, so you do not take liberties accidentally. For example, I was once Freinds with my boss and she asked me not to let on at work so she was not accused of favouritism. She once told me off too, and we discussed how I could cope with this and remain Friends with her. It worked for quite a long time. I just thought of her as a different person at work and forgot about the friendship. It may be company policy not to have close freindships at work though, and if this is the case you may get into serious trouble if anyone finds out, so please consider this.

There is nothing wrong with being friends with your boss. You can be friends outside of the work place, but remember that in the work place, she is your boss, and you are her employee.
Some companies do not allow this, and I can see why.
Just remember to keep things professional, and you should be alright.

You don't go to work to make friends but to make money. Probably safer to keep your social life out of the office.

only if you can master the art of keeping her thinking you might be readily available but at the same time making sure that you never fulfill that 'promise'....
if you cross her be prepared to move on....
