Hi my downstairs neighbors are under contract to buy my condo.
They first agreed back in May on a June 30th settlement date.
Before the June 30th settlement they & their lawyer went on vacation alledgedly and they asked to switch the date until August 3rd. They signed the contract and put 10% of purchase price in Escrow.
I was looking forward to this deal finally closing until my lawyer called and gave me bad news.
My neighbors are now saying they need an extension until the middle of August.
Im really frustrated, anxious and don't feel trusting of them to finally see this deal through.
I need some advice. Shall I tell them no more extension and risk having to list my place for sale ?
And if they don't perform, how can I keep any of the desposit they have in escrow with my lawyer ?
Im so mad because when I agreed to sell to the housing market was in better shape and now I may lose a lot if I have to sell in late Summer. If it helps with advice, I m in New Jersey. Thanks all

My parents are buying a house in Arizona, but first they have to sell their property in California. Since it might take up to a few months for their property to sell, by which time the price of the property they are trying to acquire might increase, my parents signed a purchase contract and gave a $10,000 earnest deposit in order to 'lock' the price of the new property. Now, if someone comes in and decides they want to buy the property at Arizona, then we'd get 48 hrs to decide whether to complete the purchase of the property or let it go. If we decide not to purchase the property at that time, then we'd get the earnest deposit back. My question is, if we decide to cancel the purchase, would we get that earnest deposit back? By the way it was signed last Saturday.

Recently, I went to check my credit score and when I entered my social security number, all of my sister's information showed up. Her name, address, and work history was associated with my number! My sister is not exactly the person I want as a "number double". Does this mean my sister is stealing my credit and if so what do I do? What if it is a simple mistake, how do I fix it?

My credit is bad, but I have an excellent rental history. I work in the gov therfore I can get a residental loan with my own money. I have about $10,000 in there. I would really like help in purshasing a home so that I don't have to continue to pay $1,600.00 rent. If I wait to clear up my credit I may not ever get a house.
