My husband and I have racked up $12000 in credit card debt. He has $48,000 in his 401K. We're young...and the interest is only climbing on our credit card debts. I feel like we're getting nowhere. Why can't we tap into a portion of that to clear our debts? Isn't there a loophole or one time allowance? I've heard that if you're about to forclose on your home you can access it...but who wants to get to THAT point before getting help?

There are some golden rules you just don't learn at school or home. You just learn them them by yourself as the result of you successes and failures as life goes by.
Sometimes they might be very different from what you were taught or what your family values are and you might feel it would have been very valuable to learn them sooner in your life.
So what is the most important one you have learnt so far?

I am a single mom with 2 boys looking for a career instead of just a job. I am 36 years old & have no idea on what I should do. I am interested in many things & have had alot of different jobs in my life. Please help me on something I could do without taking a long time to do. I am willing to go to college but would have to go at night. So I want something I can do in a year or 2 if possible.

I'm quitting my job to go to school, and would like to leave on a formal note to keep from burning my bridges, just in case.. I've never given a two-week notice, and would just like some suggestions on what to say and sound semi-professional about it.

I really screwed up and have over $50,000 in investment losses this year! Our gross income from salaries for this year will only be around $50,000.

In addition, I lost $5000 in my Roth IRA. I just read that I can only deduct $3,000 in investment losses. Does that include IRAs PLUS regular investment activities?

Also, will any interest I accrue via CDs or dividends from stocks or mutual funds essentially be tax-free now since I have such a large investment loss? Or is that a different category?

Please help, I really screwed up this year and am hoping somebody has some suggestions to make this better. Thanks in advance!

Last month I visited a strip club and used my card to pay for charges.

Next morning i have $6300 worth of charges on it!! I was only there myself for 2hrs- unforutnatly i was totally wasted and cant rememer the night or what i have signed for :(

As a result, my citi credit card which has a limit of $3500 currently is $4800 over the limit! HELP!!!!!

I cant get unsecured loans as my credit history is too short. I have already disputed the charges, but if i did sign the reciepts and hence liable what is my best solution. I have no other debts...

Thanks for your help
