I didn't find my "calling"" until I was 22, and I consider myself lucky at having found it.

As previously suggested, I recommend starting at community college. This saves money and buys you some time while earning your basic core credits that can be applied to a four-year degree.

During that time, take a variety of elective courses that sound interesting to you. Somewhere in there, you might find the inspiration you need. Thats how it started for me.

Good Luck!

Only you can answer the question for yourself. What excites you? Don't be afraid of careers that others may tell you are simply 'fantasy' jobs. If you want to be an actor, singer, artist, don't let anyone tell you that you can't or that you're being unrealistic. I know many women who work in 'non-traditional' trades, plumbers, carpenters, electricians... they're happy and making more money than they ever imagined. It is unlikely that you will have only one career in your life... the average is 3 to 5. So... go for it, whatever you choose... and make it your own choice!

I'm still trying to figure it out myself...
So far I have it narrowed down to Historian, Linguist, Anthropologist, Equine Veterinarian, Farmer, Teacher of languages or history, or a Viking expert (I don't know the official title, but I'd like to know how to read their runes, study their paths of sailing, and know pretty much everything about them).

I am currently 23 and need to choose my majors. I want to live in Germany so German Studies is key, but the 2nd major, well, I can't decide. I like all that I have listed above and have the grades to take on anything. If you are young, I would say just experience as much as you can then decide based on which of your experiences you think most fondly upon.

part of going to college is interacting with other students. You will be exposed to all kinds of Ideas and opportunities.

Part of the process is to study different things in the beginning and you will find where your interests and abilitibes meet.

By taking classes, you may find an interest that you didn't know you had

Even at a Jr. College.
