I am a new immigrant - I have been in the States for 2 years, but just got my Resident status. We do not have credit system in my country, so it seems to me to be extremely confusing. My husband has not a good credit, I have none. We'd like to buy a house in future. But for now I'm thinking we need a credit card. We both have secured cards, but now his bank pre-approved him for a CC. Should he open it? Also, HOW DO CREDIT CARDS WORK???? I have minimum idea.
Thank you.

When payroll is handed out he sometimes states not to cash it until Saturday or later today because he is waiting on a check to cover it. Or else he doesn't say anything. Either way the bank either refuses to cash it or it bounces. This happens on a weekly basis. It has become a race to the bank on a first come basis in order to get your check cashed w/ whatever little funds are available. He employs 54 people. He not only does this w/ the employees but w/ his vendors , creditors etc., and our health insurance also. The employees are fed up and need some answers that I just cannot give them. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Cindy

I hope you have the will power to resist the retailers hyping every holiday, even sacred and somber days like Christmas and Memorial day, as a day to empty your pockets and rack up your charge cards. Saving is sweet----I know I have practiced it; and I have fun when I spend. But I am not a sucker like many of you and fall for this sale and that sale. After all, how many pairs of shoes or watches or pieces of jewelry do you need.

If non-essential spending gives you a high and you are maxing out on your debt or your saving is not at least 15% of your pay, you have a sickness. Find a cure, quick!
