I hope you have the will power to resist the retailers hyping every holiday, even sacred and somber days like Christmas and Memorial day, as a day to empty your pockets and rack up your charge cards. Saving is sweet----I know I have practiced it; and I have fun when I spend. But I am not a sucker like many of you and fall for this sale and that sale. After all, how many pairs of shoes or watches or pieces of jewelry do you need.

If non-essential spending gives you a high and you are maxing out on your debt or your saving is not at least 15% of your pay, you have a sickness. Find a cure, quick!

I agree 110% with your assessment. This orgy on credit/debt is going to lead to an economic collapse of epic proportions. The day after Thanksgiving is the biggest shopping day of the whole year, but it has also been declared National Buy Nothing Day. Just go do your shopping any other day but that one.

I agree.
Fiscal responsibility and self-control are replaced by "shop till you drop" and "spend spend spend" attitude on every level of our society.
Irresponsible consumption is a characteristic of a cancer.
