I have been perming my hair for over 20 years without problems. I recently had my hair permed (twice in 10 days). The perm starts falling out within hours. First time there may have been too much hair on the rods. The 2nd time I am not sure. The salon says it is my shampoo/conditioner. I am using Cliniderm (Free and Clear in US). This is the only thing that I can think of that has changed since my last perm two years ago.
These are the ingredients:
Shampoo: purified water, disodium cocamphodiacetate, disodium laureth sulfosuccinate, ammonium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropylamine oxide, citric acid, PEG-120 methyl glucose dioleate, PEG-12 dimethicone, tetrasodium EDTA, potassium sorbate
Conditioner: purified water, dicetyldimonium chloride, cetearyl alcohol, stearamidopropyl dimethylamine, propylene glycol, ceteareth-20, tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E), panthenol, potassium sorbate and citric acid
Are there certain ingredients that people should look out for before perms?
