Get your hair healthy again before you dye it. Use olive oil in your hair after you condition it, and blow dry it on low heat.
Don't use the potions, use the olive oil you get from the market for cooking.

Use a very deep conditioner when you wash your hair like Zerran's Omni Pak and leave it in for a few minutes once every week or two. Use Zerran's Moisture Pack when not using the Omni Pak. Leave in the Moisture Pack for about a minute or two. You can also use a leave-in conditioner like Zerran's Equalizer. Apply it after washing your hair but before drying it. Beware though. Leave-in conditioner will weigh your hair down (less volume). If you have curly hair, it will also make your hair curlier. You don't have to use their brand. There are others, but these are my favorites.
As far as dying your hair, it depends on how often you dye it. Maybe dye it once every two months? It really depends on your hair's texture. If you bleach it (aka highlights), that is definitely more damaging. If you bleach it too much, your hair will break.

I have the same problem from dying my hair too much.My daughter is a hair dresser. You need to put a deep pack conditioner on your hair. What i do is wash my hair, towel dry, then add the coditioner.I usually put a plastic bag on my head or a plastic shower cap.If u have a hair drier take and run it over your head with the conditioner and the cap on.The heat will help your dry hair to suck in the conditioner. If u don't have a drier, then just leave the cap on for while, while u work around the house or other.Wash hair again and it should feel much softer.Good luck to your hair.

Until the hair you now have has grown out completely and has been replaced with new, healthy, hair you shouldn't dye it. After damage comes breakage, and a lot of people who do too much processing to their hair end up with serious breakage and bald spots.
In the meantime, trim the damaged ends and use a conditioner made just for color-damaged/treated hair; and try to use as few curling irons or blow dryers as possible until the hair is healthier. Use a moisturizing shampoo or shampoo made especially for color-treated hair.
Once new hair starts coming in you can color it again, but I think you should be careful not to over-treat your hair again or not to color it for too long. I've known women who dye their hair for several years and who end up with skimpy, wiry, hair that doesn't seem to be replaced with new hair. I don't know if dying causes follicle damage over the years or if its just that middle-aged women don't grow new hair in as fast - but you probably want to be a little careful about too much dying if you still want a whole head of healthy hair when you're 40 or 60.

Hair can become damaged many ways. Hair color, bleach, and relaxers can damage the hair. Sun damage can oxidize fatty acids from the hair leaving it very dry and brittle. Over brushing and using heat on the hair can cause damage. Dry hair craves moisture in the proper balance. Balance is the key. Adding humectants to our shampoo for dry hair dramatically alters the way the hair attracts and retains moisture for the perfect balance and longer lasting moisture in the hair. The Hair Repair Treatment helps correct oxidation damage through advanced enzymatic action and replaces any lost of lipids in the hair. Dry and damaged hair will be brought back to healthy hair quickly using the Dry Damaged Hair Kit. use shampoos and conditioners for dry and damgaed hair and once a week u have to make treatment to your hair you have to leave it on your hair for at least 1hr or if you not satisfied the best thing to do is to speak with your hairdresser!!!
hope it hleps tc!!!

Hmm try a leave in conditioner..
Or even better a hot oil treatment..
They have some by Tresemme and it works fastastic!
They also have a leave-in-conditioner by Sunsilk that makes my hair really soft ..
Well.. take a break on the dying..Give your hair a rest :P
Try going a few days without heat styling/dying and that will even help
Dont wash your hair everyday either, that takes away the natural oils which are good for your hair

You might have to stop coloring it for awhile. You're gonna have to take really good care of it now. Use pro-packs, leave in conditioners, conditioners, let it dry natural sometimes instead of drying it with a hair dryer, use a shampoo that wont dry out your hair, and dont use any kind of thermal iron.
