right now i have kinda dark brown hair, and i've been thinking about dying the underneath of it blonde. i have the kit & everything, i'm just scared to do it. i've looked everywhere for pictures, but all i can find is the blonde hair with brown underneath. i think that its cute, but i'm not sure about the other way around. any suggestions?

Ok - i think i know what you're talking about here.
A couple things. First, In order to get a nice blonde color, you will need bleach- which is not at all good for your hair.
As far as how much of your hair to dye? I suggest the bottom- maybe about 2-3 inches from the nape of your neck. then place a piece of foil to block the bleach from touching the rest of the dark hair.
Then, seperate another section to keep brown, put foil on top of that. then do a 1-1/2 inch section of more blonde, leaving the top section brown.
The idea here is that you want to have contrast, that blends. by doing this you will have brown on the top of your head with blonde that peeks through, then more brown in the middle, followed by blonde underneath.

If you have layers already to judge how much to dye that would help, other wise you might not be able to see the color variations. Going blonde from a dark shade is rather hard, it has a tendency to turn red or auburn-ish. Good Luck!

I see girls all the time with that hair.. it really suits some people but personally I don't think I could ever get away with it.

brown with blonde under sounds like it'll look pretty bad. dye the top.

I think that would look soooooooooo cute!!!omy gosh!!! never thought of itlike that and it is so origanal and just think you can just dry it back easily if you don't like it so have fun and do it.

Maybe you could try a color that washes out first so that you can see if you like it and then if you do like it you can do a permanent color.

maybe the salon is what you need to look into they may charge more but they know what they are doing and how it should look in the outcome

i would not die my top or bottom hair b/c it is sooooooooooooo outta style and ugly so i think you should just die it like the whole thing trust me i know girls who did it both ways and it lookes like ****
