ok, I have very curly hair, so I can give you some straightening tips: no, don't grease your hair! just wash it and dry it while pulling a comb through it. then use the iron (preferably one with water compartment for the steam). just use some foam or silicon if you want to make it last a bit longer (mine always curls back in a day, it's annoying). but I have learned to love my curls, though it hasn't been an easy mission:-) but when you want it straight, that's the best thing you can do

It depends on alot of things:
1. It depends on your hair type
2. It depends on the kind of straigtener you use.
If you're using a cheap straigtener and your hair is really thick, then you should use grease...
If you're using a nice straightener like a Paul Mitchell or a Chi, then you shouldn't need any grease...maybe just a sleek and shine product or something...but don't cake your hair with it...just a dab is good. =]

before straightening my hair, i put in a product called biosilk which can be purchased for about 15 dollars at your local drugstore or 10 at Sam's Club. put it in damp hair, but remember - a little goes a LONG way (no more than a dime-size amount)! if you put too much in, your hair may appear greasy. this goes in damp hair. then once you blowdry/airdry your hair completely, (never iron while wet or your hair may become frizzy, wavy, or "fried") i put in diamond gloss shine spray on each layer of hair i straighten. it is about 18 dollars and i bought it from my hairstylist. this product protects your hair form heat damage-it is important to put in a heat-protectant serum before ironing to avoid split ends and other damage.) people have recently complimented on how soft, shiny, and healthy-looking my hair looks. hope i helped! best of luck!

If you have coarse dry hair then adding a light oil will smooth the shaft and follicle making for a easier smoother process. If you have fine hair the NO oil should be added

no way!! it will cause yo to get split ends. trust me, i know!! just straighten it regularly and pu a styling gel in after to get a shine and make it not frizz. Try Herbal essences hair product. it works really good. o yah, and make sure that ur iron is not on to hot or it will burn your hair.

I use Avedas hang straight. Works really well. I think greasing it will make it burn with the flat iron.

highly suggested, otherwise the heat will dry your hair out, regardless of the texture. some sort of moisturizer, preferably light will aid in keeping your hair moisturize and straight.

Yes you should. Only apply a little hair dressing to your hair, and don't use high heat.
