I cut my own bangs and they're too short!! How can I style them, or what should I do with them until they grow out?

Desperately require any advice available! My natural hair colour is dark blonde, very light blonde, some would say mousey! after years of highlights I got tired of regrowth and decided I wanted a lovely dark brunette colour, like Mandy Moore or Reese Witherspoon in "Walk The Line" I got my hairdresser to put on a chocolate semi-permanent colour and although I knew it would fade it barely lasted a week! I may aswell not have bothered I really want a dark brown colour and although I have been told permanent colours can damage the hair and depending on your natural colour leave visible regrowth, will I have to resort to this to get the dark colour I want without drastic fading? Or should I stick with semi-permanent? Many thanks

I'm going to be in a pageant-like beauty contest at my school, and I'm wearing a pretty formal dress. I have brown, straight hair that's about 4 inches above my elbow and I don't know what to do with it. What will stand out to the judges?? Suggestions, please! Especially if you've been in a beauty pageant before and know what's typical in such things. ; )

I have naturally straight hair that doesn't keep curls no matter what I use. I also don't like using a whole lot of hair spray. Any suggestions?

In the last three days two of my friends have told me different stories where they have met with some form of job descrimination related to their hair.

In the first case, a girlfriend of mine was told flat out by Walmart that they would not hire her because of her two-tone (red and black) highlights. The woman interviewing her considered her hair too bizarre and I have just helped my friend dye her hair b-o-r-i-n-g brown, just to try and help her get a job.

In the other case, a boyfriend of mine who's hair is sort of in between collar and shoulder length was told that he had to start wearing his hair "secured" either with a French braid or tucked under (pinned up) ponytail or bun, just so that he could keep his job as a waiter. He has been working there six months and never had a problem with the old management, but someone new is running it now and doesn't like loose hair including ponytails below collar length.

How much say does an employer have?

A friend of my mum's is giving me a part time (Saturday) job, starting next week in her hairdressing salon as what she jokingly called a Saturday Girl (but she said I could her her Saturday Boy :) ).

My mum said it involved lots of sweeping up hair, doing laundry and stuff and maybe washing people's hair. Is that it? It doesn't sound too exciting, but I have to earn some money to pay off something I broke and I am struggling to get a job any where else.

Every time I go to get my hair done, I wish I could go to the other stylist there. She is so patient and talented. I love every haricut that she does and her clients are all so happy with her too. My stylist is very average and has an edgy personality. I suspect she would throw poison darts at me with her eyes or even cause a scene if she saw me in that other chair. What to do? !!!

I USE to have really crappy hair. I use to wear my hair up ALL the time..to the point it became naturally wavy. Finally I wore it down and straightened it....My hair looked gorgeous. I don't want to straighten it all the time because I know it will seriously damage my hair and I'm trying to get it healthy. I have SOME split ends....is there anything homemade that can fix them? What are some cute DOWN hairstyles I can wear?
