Hair - June 2006

so, I have loooong hair to my butt. I have bangs below my eyes and i sweep them off to the side, in addition it's a bit layered around my ears (i feel like I'm describing a mullet, but it's not) I would like to have it layered at the ends, anyone have a link where I could see a way cool haircut for long hair? I have tried looking about but, alas, I cannot find anything I like!! The hairdresser I went to told me long hair isn't "in" and so there aren't hair dos for long hair ... makes me feel like I am the only one with long hair!! neat. :P

I have long, curly natural medium brown hair with a lot of reddish tones in it. I am starting to get a few grays and I want to cover them (& maybe go to a darker brownish red shade). I want to find something that isn't too drying and will last.

Please don't tell me to go to a salon - I know that is the best way to go. I simply cannot afford salon hair every 6-8 weeks (I have tried fitting it in my budget but it doesn't work).

How can i straighten my fair quickly and effectively so it stays? Blowing drying results in my hair frizzing and i want to be able to wash dry and straighten without me having to wait for my hair to dry naturally also it takes ages to straighten my hair about 1hour.

I have super straight, thin hair. I would like to wear it wavy or curly every once in a while. I have tried curling irons and rollers and everything else I know of but my hair doesnt hold the curl. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to use? No perms by the way!!!! Just a temporary fix please.

I use condition and hair detanglers but no matter what my hair is always tangly. It is thin and baby fine hair but healthy. I take really good care of my hair but it is soo hard to brush sometimes especially right after I wash it. And when I brush out the tangles it breaks my hair off. Is there a special product someone recommends?

I have severe dandruff and have had it for a few years now. When I first got it I wasn't so bad, but in the last year or so it has gotten really bad, so bad infact that I have a bold patch at the base of my head. I have used all of the anti dandruff shampoos on the market, such Herbal Essences, Loreal, Garnier Fructise, Vosene, Head and Shoulders, Pantene, T Gel and something from the Body Shop. I have been to see my doctor and was given Polytar and this made no difference, so I went back and was given a medicated shampoo which begins with K.
Its getting me down and I want this to be solved. AAlso could it be linked to genes, because my mum had it bad when she was around my age and she says that It will sort it self out, but nothing is happening, HELP PLEASE SOMEONE ANYONE. THAKS.

I will be going into 7th grade in the fall and I need ideas on how to do my hair. I don't need cut ideas. In 6th grade I wore my hair in a pontail everyday and I was made fun of because I did so. I have long hair that hasn't been cut in a while (6-7 months). It's thick, layered, wavy, and I'm wondering if makes sense to get it cut, maybe just a trim, before getting it highlighted...I'm not the most primpy type (I'm getting partial hilites for free!), so help me out! Is this necessary?

Also, is it really necessary to use a special shampoo?
