so, I have loooong hair to my butt. I have bangs below my eyes and i sweep them off to the side, in addition it's a bit layered around my ears (i feel like I'm describing a mullet, but it's not) I would like to have it layered at the ends, anyone have a link where I could see a way cool haircut for long hair? I have tried looking about but, alas, I cannot find anything I like!! The hairdresser I went to told me long hair isn't "in" and so there aren't hair dos for long hair ... makes me feel like I am the only one with long hair!! neat. :P

Well, hello! I have long hair myself, down to my knees, in fact. Of course a hairdresser is going to tell you that long hair is not "in"....we're the people they don't make much money off of. ;O) I personally prefer one-length for long hair, as that means more thickness, but if you have unusually thick hair, I suppose layers could still work. If you *must* get layered, I would suggest just getting the very ends layered, no differently than shorter lengths...maybe into a soft V or U shape. Here's a website I recommend: www.tlhs.org Have you considered just experimenting with different long hairstyles that don't involve any cutting?

Long hair is defiently in but the way you described your hair is not. Ultra long hair such as yours limits your style options...I suggest taking a few inches off that way you keep a great deal of length and have more styling options. The thing abot super long hair is that it limits style potential and also loses alot of it's body. So consider a shorter length so you can have great hair....really long hair is nice but long hair with style is GREAT

I have long hair too so I completely relate to your dilema. This site might be of some help to you.

I usually just do a search for "long hairstyles" and come up with some good sites. If you do end up getting it cut shorter, try talking to a stylist about donating your locks. A lot of people would be more than glad to have them.

I also have very long hair. I have long layers all over and it looks great. Cut off about 3-4 inches and layer it all over. Beautiful look..

www.clairol.com has a good 'try it on' section. I used to have really long hair too. Try very thin and whispy layers. Try not to start the layers too high, or the ends of your hair will look too thin. Use lots of volumizing products and also try velcro rollers for variety.

no i dont have a link for long hair styles but if you have in mind what you want to do with it then you just need to go to a different hairdresser and tell them what you want thats what i do the last place i went to was bubbles (if you live around woodbridge, va its in potomic mills) and i was really happy with what they did and i never like the hair cuts i get.

Clairol has a site where you upload a photo of yourself and put hair styles on your head. That way you can see what they look like. I don't know how many long styles they offer; try a few shorter styles just to see. And, you might search for wigs, and look and long wigs and see if you find a style you like.

Well you're definitely not the only one with long hair. I would love to help you but I don't think you would like my idea of a good long hair cut or style. I really like the scene/"emo" looks. They have fabulous hair.

If it is without volume and it is dry at the ends, i would consider cutting it. if it is the opposite keep it! Long hair can be out of style but only if it looks like it isn't taken care of.
