I have super straight, thin hair. I would like to wear it wavy or curly every once in a while. I have tried curling irons and rollers and everything else I know of but my hair doesnt hold the curl. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to use? No perms by the way!!!! Just a temporary fix please.

try products specifically designed to hold curl. first use a curl enhancing shampoo and conditioner then a styling product like a curl gel. buy a curling iron from a salon, they get quite a bit hotter than regular ones which helps them give curl. good luck!

I have super straight, really fine and thick hair... so I completely understand. Quickest way - wash with volumizing shampoo, itty bitty amount of conditioner for tips and tangles, don't brush, apply really dry hair spray to the end while leaning over and scrunch it up, make sure to loosen hair strands on the top so your hair won't be flat against your scalp. You can blow dry it on low with a good hot setting, scunching while doing so, you'll want to use a diffuser if you have one. Don't dry all the way, leave hair slightly damp, then use a handful of mousse and scrunch some more.

Try hair spray after using a curling iron. You know what, no one is ever happy with what they've got. It is normal, I'm not saying we're all ungrateful, but it's like we just want to know what it would feel like to have something that you don't have. I would love to have thin, straight super fine, black sleek hair. But that's never going to happen. So, I just bought me a straightener. :)

first wash hair dont dry it add mouse and conditioner to hair then add rollers, sit under a full head dryer no hand blowdryers stay under dryer for about 45 to an hour take rollers out spray with hair spray i suggest spritz for stronger hold then spray with a light non greasy oil sheen for shine. What type of curls you want depends on the size of rollers

WET SET YOUR HAIR.
1. WASH AND CONDITION YOUR HAIR
2. APPLY LOTTA BODY SETTING LOTION (MADE BY REVLON) (BUY IT AT A BEAUTY SUPPLY STORE,) TO WET HAIR.
3. ROLL HAIR WITH TWO PIECE MAGNETIC ROLLERS ONLY
(FOAM ROLLERS CAUSE HAIR BREAKAGE.)
4. LET DRY NATURALLY OF WITH A DRYER, AND CURLS WILL BE CRISP AND BEAUTIFUL AND WILL STAY CURLED FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. BUT NIGHTLY ROLL YOUR HAIR TO KEEP THE CURLS IN.

The best product I have found is Redken Body Full, weightlifter. You are suppose to use it after you wash you hair, but I have found it really helps to also use it as hairspray for very straight hair.

if you want your hair to be curly the next morning, lightly damp hair and french braid it in to however many sections you want. add some sleep and your hair should come out with loose waves after you take out the braids. for a finishing touch, hairspray and there you go! easy yet beautiful waves.

I have the exact same problem... NOTHING works for me... I suggest dealing with it or getting a wig... I know it sucks... especially on special occasions where you need to look formal
