I have really thick hair about 2 inches past my shoulders. Since it is thick, it is pretty frizzy too. Most of the time I straighten it to get the style I want. I know that this is damaging my hair, but I don't know what else to do. Is there any products that I can use to make it look better without the iron. I've heard of different products directed toward this, but I am a bit skeptical.

First off, I’m white, with straight thick hair & I know this is different for black people. But I would like to try to dreadlock my hair… I know it’s a lot of maintenance and half of you idiots are going to tell me to not do it, so you can pretty much just bite me :)

But I would like as much info on how to grow dreads as I can get. What products to use? Any good websites? Is it permanent? Should I go to a salon so I don’t mess it up? How often to twist them? How often to wash them? Can I wash them? I want thin locks not thick puffy ones, but how? Everything and anything you can give me…

Thanks a ton!

want to keep the length as long as possible but can anyone suggest a style other than layers? which i had but are now pretty much grown out. my hair reaches the middle of my back and getting a bit bored of it, i have had it high lighted so am happy with the colour, just wanna liven the style up abit. my hair is poker straight and will not take a perm and curlers don't work as my hair is very heavy so going for a curly style doesn't work as it drops out after 5 mins no matter what anyone tries. thanks for any advice coming. x

ohhh it is a nightmare...she has the curls of her black heritage, the thickness and ability to grow of mine (I am white with EXTREMELY thick hair that grows almost an inch a month) and texture of just in between, so relaxers are OUT of the question.

She is 4. Everyday I use Motions Hair Lotion to condition her scalp and hair and use it to style the hair.

Twice a week we wash using Just For Me Shampoo and then condition with a heavy conditioner.

To brush her hair I use Loreal Detangler, and use Silken Child Deep Moustuirzing Hair Lotion to set and style and condition even further.

I have moustierization covered...her hair is only dry at night....I used to plat her hair 3 days out of the week and it seemed to manage the extreme tanlging, but last month she cut one of her braids off, so braiding it OUT of the question.

I am always looking for hair care tips.....so give me any adice you can.

I'm a 22 yr old guy.I've got shoulder length hair.I recently rebonded my hair Straight. Its been almost four months now.I'm fed up of this Super Straight Hair Look.Noe I'm really missing my natural waves and Curls in my Hair.So My question is;Can Straightened hair be reverted back to their natural form??? Is there any special kind of treatment that I must undergo??
I also had this weird Idea... Chemical straightening actually breaks the bonds in your hair right? And the effects of chemical straighteners only last for a month or so. So if I chemically straighten,& after about a month ..when the effects start to fade...will my natural bonds set back in the hair?? Or will my current 'straight' bonds come back???? I really need some help.

And Is 'rebonding wave' a solution to my problem?? I've also heard about hair curling (perming I guess).I dont want my hair to be too curly either.i just want it to be naturally wavy.Any suggestions??

I have natural curly hair. Well you can say it is not even curly.....it is kinky.. I can't even wear a ponytail with it. I can just wear it in a bun or as a plait. I have shoulder length hair and it doesn't even grow longer than that.

What should I do....I tried Japanese hair straightening...I lost lots of hair due to it and I don't want to try any straightening methods anymore.
