You can't get rid of split ends, you have to cut them off. You can prevent them from happening again, though, by using a shampoo that protects against them like Pantene and also by not straightening you hair every day because that's a main cause for most women.

Creams can temporarily make your hair look healthier, but the only way to fix split ends is to cut them off.

To prevent future split ends don't wash your hair every day, wet hair is more easily damaged(also don't comb or brush wet hair if you can avoid it). Use a moisturizing shampoo and intensive conditioner. The heat and dryness from blow drying your hair can cause damage. Don't die or perm your hair or use styling products that contain alcohol. Curling irons, straighteners and other heated styling utensils are not good for your hair so don't use them or use them only occasionally.

Taking a multi-vitamin and a good balanced diet will help hair grow stronger and sometimes faster, but these result won't be seen for awhile, because hair grows so slow.

I heard that Dove's new shampoo and conditioner for overprocessed hair is really good!

Unfourtunately, cuting your hair is the only SURE way to get rid of split ends. You don't even have to cut your hair very much. It is just a trim.
But, if you are planning on keeping on growing your hair out, it will grow out terrible with split ends, as well as taking longer to grow.

I am sorry to tell you the only thing that you can do for spit ends is cut them. If you don't all they will end up doing is splitting farther and farther up and it will look like your hair was cut anyway. The only thing is that it will be much shorter than if you would have just gotten it trimmed in the beginning.

Hope this helps~Bon

You have to have your hair trimmed at least an inch above the splits. Then get a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner for dry hair.

You need to get a fortifying shampoo... and you DO need to get it TRIMMED every 2-3 months! I know you don't want it to be any shorter, but a TRIM is such a tiny amount, you won't even notice, and neither will anybody else. Trust me!
Also, another really important thing: Do NOT use a brush your hair when it is WET... it causes split ends. Instead, use a plastic comb! take all of these tips and you will be happy! =)

Well first off you should cut then off every 2 month or so and ask you hair stylest about what kind of hair product to use. I use a shampoo and cond called Sleek and it works really good. It comes in a orange bottle.

Well you don't have to wack your hair off. just go get the bottoms trimmed. and for shampoos. i would suggest Garnier Fructies, or how ever you spell that.
I use to have split ends like nooo other. but since i have been using this, its all gone away, and my hair is shiny and soft. but i would still go get the trim, then switch over shampoos.
you can get the shampoo and almost any store, like wal*mart or something.

like everyone else said - trim the ends at least a 1/4 inch above the split ends.
Suave has professional style shampoo that treats split ends and is reasonably priced.

I'm a stylist....and sorry to tell you that there isn't any product on the market to "repair" split ends. They are damaged ends. You need to have them cut off. The products you waste your money on, only temporarily tame them down.
