I have really thick hair about 2 inches past my shoulders. Since it is thick, it is pretty frizzy too. Most of the time I straighten it to get the style I want. I know that this is damaging my hair, but I don't know what else to do. Is there any products that I can use to make it look better without the iron. I've heard of different products directed toward this, but I am a bit skeptical.

i have really thick hair too, mine is not usually that frizzy, but i found that layering your hair helps to keep it more under control, and it isn't such a pain to wash, etc. also, when you condition your hair, if you put your conditioner in your hair right after you shampoo it, and then leave it in for a little while, and then rinse it out, it makes your hair less frizzy. i don't know of anything else though, sorry.

There are products that are used to straighten hair, but I think they're just as damaging as the ironing can be. I suggest that you make sure to use a lot of conditioners, and keep using the iron, if you're skeptical about the hair products. You could also try leave-in conditioners, and then straighten your hair.

I have realy thick hair and mainly the same problems as I get older, when it is humid they tend to curl. For a while I thought pony tails and braids but my hair is so thick that when my hair is as long as down my waist, my braid only has 4-5 twists...

Any how, so far what's best for me, is Dove's conditioner THERAPY and when I blow dry, I stretch them with a comb or brush and they are less wavy. BUt comes humidity they will curl again. The Dove conditioner Therapy is realy good for your hair and not damaging, in fact they look better now. (keep it in 3 minutes minimum). of course avoid all "thickening" hair products for thin hair LOL.

Well I am not really sure what to tell you, I also have very thick hair. One thing you can do is when you get your hair cut, have them thin it. Only get this done like once to twice a year though. It helps a lot when you are young, but if you do it to much then when you get older you will want your old hair back\

i have really thick hair too, same lenght as yours. i've tried "john freida's frizz-ease", but it did nothing. You're lucky, you can iron it. When i do, it looks worse, so i just put it in a ponytail everyday. Obviously i dont reccomend that frizzease stuff
