I have been taking photography courses for about three years now. I consider myself to have a good eye, and have been recommended for AP Photography in my school next year. However, one thing that has never gone too well for me is getting the proper depth of field. When changing aperture, I never notice any change in focus (ie: more in focus when going from f/8-f/16.) Why is this? Shouldn't I see more get in focus when I go from 8-16?

Every time I try to sell an excellent piece of artwork, one or few of the following always happens:

1) I'll give a person a contact card, but I always get the famous line "I'll give you a call for sure!" They never call.
2) I try to advertise... I tried once in a newspaper... but I don't ever get any reply.
3) I show them off to few people, they absolutely love it, but never want to pay how much it's worth... i usually charge $65 or even $50, or they always broke.
4) I even tried few art stores, but no luck.
5) I posted them on the Internet, and had my sign-in name on messenger set to the link of the site, and told them they're for sale.
Then people say that I'm not trying to make any money and I'm just wasting my talent? As hard as I tried?

What am I doing wrong??

i am a commercial photographer nothing huge, but i would like to get into wedding photography, and i know its much too intricate for me to just dash into it. i can;t seem to find any photographers that are willing to train another wedding photographer. I am available weekends and willing to work hard for little or no money at first.

Can anyone help me out?

i just bought a canon SD750. the sales man talked me into buying it, saying IS isn't really needed at a low light concert. it's more for sports shots. he told me all i really need to to turn up the ISO, and use the fireworks scene. is he mistaken or am i just being too skepitcal? i have a feeling i made the wrong decision.

hi - I was having a look at this portrait shot : http://www.wired.com/imageviewer/?imagePath=/images/article/magazine/1510/ff_scott_580_f.jpg&imageCaption=&imageCredit=Robert+Maxwell
and I was wondering how they get that "silvery" effect. what sort of lighting set up? Also what sort of flash would you use to get that light reflection in the eyes?

thanks!

To be fair, also keep this in mind, we did get married 7-7-7, the busiest wedding day recorded.

How long until proofs should have been provided?

How long from time the order was placed for prints to be returned?

How long from time the order was placed for our storybook album to be available for approval, then for it to be printed and completed?

Also, I should mention we are in a very small area/city...so it's not nearly the market a large city would have and it was his only wedding that day.

Ours has taken very long in my opinion, everything was required to be paid in full, in advance. Should I request some money back or additional prints or anything? I am very disappointed...but want a view from the other side.

I've some dwgs (sketches), I want to scan them in and maybe print out later. the original size is about 8x10. and I'll probably want to print the same size later.

150dpi, is that enough?I heard resolution more than that won't help... thanks.

I normally use a film SLR which is wound on electronically so you can hear the film wind on.

but I just started using a fully mechanic film SLR and I am not sure if the film is winding off after pressing the shutter???
I can only hear the shutter mirror clicking and no other sign (visible or sound) that the film is winding on.

Is there any way I can be sure that the film is winding on so that I dont waste a whole roll? If it has worked... ive already exposed half the film!

Is it best just to expose all 24 shots and then rewind it???

thanks

I have a great camera...Canon Digital Rebel SLR but I can't seem to take a decent pic inside. Can you recommend some inexpensive light I could buy to help. I have an additional flash attachment but it doesn't seem to give me much help.

In old photos everyone looks so stoic. No matter if it's a yearbook picture or a family pic, no one ever smiled. When did people start smiling for photos, and why?

Inquiring minds want to know :).

While taking pics in rooms with dark wood floors/walls the flash changes the settings on it's own. An example would be if I was not getting enough light in the room but to much sun glare in the windows I would set the shutter speed to say 125 and set the flash to 1.3 and then the flash will change itself to -.7 during the shot. Any ideas?

I mostly take pictures of children. I'm looking for something quick, good bit of zoom, and that will give me clear pictures. Also don't know what my problem is but I always end up with a good bit of camera shake not sure if there is a lens that might not be so sensitive to that. Thank you in advance for the help.

I have a Nikon D80 and when I take pics in rooms with dark wood floors/walls the flash kicks down unless I set the flash low which is too low for the amount of light I need.
