i am a commercial photographer nothing huge, but i would like to get into wedding photography, and i know its much too intricate for me to just dash into it. i can;t seem to find any photographers that are willing to train another wedding photographer. I am available weekends and willing to work hard for little or no money at first.

Can anyone help me out?

Unfortunately I am not in your area, I am based in Honolulu, Hawaii, otherwise I would say come on over. I have no problem in training photographers, there are enough weddings to go around, and this way, if I need someone to cover a wedding for me, or I need to refer a wedding to someone else, at least I know they were properly trained and could handle the job.

I will make some phone calls and see if I can find a photographer in one of the associations I belong to in your area willing to train you for wedding photography.

Its understandable why they are unwilling to train a future competitor. Seriously, would you knowingly train someone to compete with you for commercial photography jobs?

Perhaps subterfuge is needed - tell them you're working on an article about wedding photographers and the challenges they face. As Yogi Berra said: "You can observe a lot just by watching."
