I wish to scan negatives into digital format - I don't want to have to take them to a store to do it however - mainly because I am shooting with a toy camera onto 35mm film and the image gets cropped when I take it to a shop. What sort of scanners are out there that would be suitable?

Why won't they make the D3 and the EOS 1ds Mark 3 the same size as the Nikon F6 and the EOS-1v and just include a detachable battery grip?

.... give yourself assignments? Perhaps to shoot only the color red or yellow? Perhaps to only use one lens? Perhaps to limit yourself to no more than 72 exposures in one day?

i've been looking for an older 35mm SLR because one,i'd like to have my own SLR,and two,i'd like to get away from digital.a friend of mine has a nikon n2020 (or F501 depending where you live) and i've worked with that and liked it,but want something differnt, maybe from the same era.i've looked at minolta x-700's,maxxum 7000's and 9000's,and i liked the x-700 (i prefer the metal body by far,i hated the maxxus plastic body and buttons...i like dials...).i've considered olympus' OM system, which i also thought were nice.i've also looked at the leicaflex.i'd like something that as i develop and find the need to do more, the camera can do it.autofocus would be a nice feature,as long as it's a setting i can change and still focus manually.but it's not a necessity.oh,and the n2020/F501 has this thing i liked that i'm not sure what it was called, you looked through the viewfinder, and as you focused arrows told you which way to focus for what was centered and when it was focused it turned green.

When you handle your roll of film inside the black bag, are you supposed to touch it(in the middle section) at all? It seems pretty impossible to NOT lay your fingers on the film when you're supposed to wrap it around the wheel thing.

Hello. I want to buy a professional camera (digital) and take photography classes. I have a very good eye, but have never used a professional camera before and I am a beginner at all this. Can you guys give me any tips on what camera to buy....my maximum budget is between $800-$900. I need something that is relatively user-friendly, but would be in the professional league where I can take classes and get into taking high-end photos. I just want to do this as a hobby btw, not professionally. I would really appreciate some feedback on what kind of camera I should get and what the pros/cons are to that camera vs. other ones. Thank you so much in advance.

I have been into photography for a while now, and I don't think I am that great of a "photographer". But people tell me all the time they like my pictures, I don't know if they are being 100% honest. So I have a few questions.

1)Is it okay to be judgemental of your own photos, I find it hard too look at my photos and 100% like them.
2)Do you recommend any books on photography, something that will help inspire me to take better pictures. Or something that you generally recommend on photography.
3)Does the camera matter? I have a Kodak Easyshare C633, I don't really like it that much.
4)Do you have any recommendations of a camera?

Sorry there are soo many questions in this one "question" but I just dont want to post a bunch of different ones.

There's a spider and it's web that I'm trying to get the best picture I can without a macro lens. I need some help getting a better shot as he looks "washed out"....too white.
I have a Canon Powershot S2 - I used a tripod and a flash. There is a building light right behind him that I have no control over and no way to get a shot from a different angle. Can you suggest anything so the spider won't look so white?

Can anybody teach me how to keep your main subjects still, and then rotate only the background, for example, a church as a background, it is rotated at about 45 degrees, but the subjects in front, let say some people posing, remained at a 90 degree angle, and all this was done without any special angle lens, anybody know?

Just but a Sigma sd14 and it's on it's way with the kit lense 18-50 mm 3.5-5.6 dc lens. I already have a manfrotto head and tripod and a pretty decent flash and an extreme III contact flash card. I want to broaden studio experience and will be using a friends studio so I really don't need studio equipment just yet. Don't have a whole wack of cash but choices for upgrade are to upgrade the lense (but which one), get a power grip (makes room for two batteries), get a wireless remote, actually buy the sigma flash that is dedicated for the camera itself, or perhaps another upgrade. I can't do everything all at once so I want to prioritize which upgrades I should do first.....any help would be greatly appreciated
