I've some dwgs (sketches), I want to scan them in and maybe print out later. the original size is about 8x10. and I'll probably want to print the same size later.

150dpi, is that enough?I heard resolution more than that won't help... thanks.

300 dpi is the ideal, and also the minimum. Below this, and the prints may show pixelization; above it, and it's basically a waste of space.

The bit depth is ok but the general rule of thumb for resolution is 300 DPI per 100%. In other words if you're going to be making a print, enlarging the negative 3x it's size that's 300% so you'll want to scan at 900 DPI

Use 300 dpi if you plan on the same size or smaller. If larger, say 11x14 try 450 to 600.

The minimum is 300 dpi. Higher is better.

Use the highest you can get. It's easier to downscale later than to upsize.
