I want to buy one of these cameras and I don't know which one. The difference between them is about 100€ and I want a good opinion. I'm new to photography but I want a camera to last long before the time I possibly decide to buy a new SLR...
Please tell me if you own any of these two...

Is a grey gradient ND filter only for B&W photography?

What would happen if you used it for colour photography - for skies in landscapes?

thanks

I love taking pictures but i limit the pictures i take in public b/c i feel very uncomfortable walking around in public with my camera. I'm not doing anything wrong/illegal when i take pictures in public but i still am very uncomforable. i think Its because i'm worried that the people around me will think i'm up to no good or out to cause trouble or just plain think i'm weird. How do i get over this fear and get out to take pictures?

I have a minolta x-700 i think.
im in a photography class at school. when i look in my view finder, i dont know how high to set my aperature??

all my friends camera's have this little thing where you keep turning your aperature, and try to balance a needle in a spectrum.

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2vbk2uu&s=2

that is what mine looks like, and as i turn the aperature, the red slash moves up or down. how do i know what aperature to use?!! i know that it has to correspond to the shutter speed, but why doesnt mine have a needle to balance, and what do i have instead of that?

thanks in advanced

Me and my boyfriend are starting a photography business in the DFW area. We are mainly going to market to local businesses at first to get our pictures displayed (for free, hopefully) and then hopefully people will start seeing our products and want to purchase for their homes, offices, etc. I was just looking for any suggestions, advice or any helpful information that we could use. We are still in the planning stages, but hope to be up and running in a few months. Thanks for all your help!

I'm trying to find a stockist of Creative Copy Film (CCF) paper which would enable me to transfer photographs, via an inkjet or colour laser printer onto plates without the need for expensive machines or chemicals. Creativeprinters still advertise this product on the internet but no longer stock it.Does anyone out there know of a stockist or has used CCF paper and what were the results like Thank You

I'm in urgent need of help regarding a college project for photography.

I need A description of the film development process including: time, temperature, chemical mixing, drying, cutting and storing.
(step by step process would be good)

and

A description of the printing process. How long is the photopaper in the developer for? Why is the paper washed between developer and fixer? How long is the photopaper fixed for? How long is the photopaper washed for after the process and why?

- I have tried researching on the internet, and I'm not getting anywhere fast! =(

thank you for your time. your help will be greatly appreciated!

It seems like these days you don't need to have much natural talent to be a good photographer. I mean, take some classes, buy a really good camera, and practice a lot, and you could get really great, without much natural talent.

But that's just my opinion. I don't claim to know a whole lot about photography.

What do you guys think? How much natural talent do you need to become a good photographer?

I have a minolta x-370. Everything seemed to be working fine. I loaded my film in the camera but was unable to advance it. the film advance crank opens the full 130 degrees. I can feel a slight resistance against it which feels normal, but the crank will not turn the spool. The shutter release also does nothing when i press it. Is there something that i am just forgetting??

I have to decide between two Digital Still Cameras, that are basically the same in everything (even the price), but one has an aperture range of f2.7 - f8.0 and the other one is f3.5 - f10.0.

What woul you choose? what would i need f2.7 or f10.0 for?

The camera i was using was automatic rewind so i figured i could just open it, but when i did no film was rewound. So i closed it and hoped for the best. In photo class this happened to someone else but they only lost the 4 or 5 pictures on top, will i lose all of them? or just the few, because none were rewound and only a few were showing.

PLEASE HELP FAST

I often see responses on here indicating that there is something highly dangerous or corrosive about photo chemicals which means that they shouldn't be handled in the house.

Besides being a hobbyist photographer who has his own darkroom, I'm also currently working toward a bachelor of science degree in Chemistry, and planning to pursue a career as a chemist.

As such, I'm done a fair amount of research on the chemical processes that are going on, as well as just what exactly is in the chemicals.

There are a few highly toxic developing agents, such as Pyro formulas, which few use anyway.

Normal developers, such as D76, are actually quite safe to handle. In fact, hydroquinone, one of the developing agents in D76, is used in some medicines. D76 also contains borax, available as a cleaner, and sodium sulfite, used as a preservative. The only other thing is metol, which is non toxic, although it does cause an allergic reaction in some people.

Where do people get all of these ideas
