Is a grey gradient ND filter only for B&W photography?

What would happen if you used it for colour photography - for skies in landscapes?

thanks

The filter specifically says "GREY" gadient ND filter.

I know that an ND filter can be used for colour and B&W, but can a grey one be used for both?

Yes, a Grey gradient ND filter can be used on both B&W and Color photogrpahy. I use one myself from time to time, it adds a sharper definition to the image, especially in overcast, or extremely bright days.

Absolutely not. A Neutral density filter can be used with color or black & white film.

The purpose of the Neutral Density (ND) filter is to allow a traditional photographer using a high ISO film, such as 400, to use slower shutter speeds in bright conditions. Very handy if you want to photograph a waterfall in bright sun and want to blur the water.

A "gradient" ND filter is often used when the sky is really "blah". A photograph with nice colors in the foreground and a gray sky will be greatly improved when a gradient ND filter is used. The sky darkens dramatically.

Since it is, by definition, "neutral", it will not affect colors.

most TV images you look at are made with ND filtering, all broadcast standard cameras have inbuilt optical ND filters

so yes colour, black and white and moving pix can all be made with ND filters

ND filters take out some light, graduated ones do it gradually

It is for b&w and color that is why it is called neutral. It is not supposed to add a color cast just cut down on overall light.
