I was lookin around a local news website and found a link to upload your ghost photos.

I know most of them aren't ghosts but some are compelling!

I know it is a famous picture but I can't remember the title, I believe the girl in the picture may have been sitting on a cart of some kind with flowers around, and it looked like it was probably taken in a country other than the US. It is an image that stuck in my mind when I saw it and I would love to find a print of it if possible.

If a man told you he was a professional photographer, showed you his credentials, and asked you to pose for him in the nude,.. would you? If so, what would you expect in return, if anything. If not, could he say or do anything to change your mind? What would it take to get you to do it?

Today is Photographic Day!

It was on Aug 19, 1839, the first announcement of a photograph was made and the day is being celebrated the world over. Let's join the celebrations of all those people who gave us and continue to give us one of the world's most entertaining and enlightening art - photography!

OK...here's the million dollar question....my professional photograhper friend and I have a serious debate...In my opinion, digital photography is great...as far as it being utilitarian, conveniant, efficent, etc, etc...however...not the best for true "artistic" photography. I feel that it pulls away from the art to have an image digitized and broken down into pixils and then rescrambled back together on an LCD screen. To have an image that is actually burned by light into film seems much more authentic and real. My photographer friend thinks it makes no difference and doesn't interfere with the artistic process to use digital. Any thoughts?

I have a photo that is to high a resolution for the web, but certain portions of the photo need the higher resolution. Is there a way that I can compress most of it but leave a select portion of it at a high res? If not with compression, is there another way that I can shrink the file size of this photo without effecting the resolution of certain portions of it?

I have seen a picture recently that was of a house that seems to be on a base of a tree. Kind of a abstrac picture. The house blends into the trees base so it looks like its they are one piece. Anyone know the name of the picture or the photographer??

I own a Nikon D70s with a Tamron 28-80mm lens. Images seem rather 'soft.' I'm thinking about purchasing either the Tamron 70-300mm ($200) or the Tamron 28-300mm ($400). Which would you pruchase, and why?

Ok my first question is this - What are some of the best photography schools in the nation?

My second question is - Are they really worth the $100,000+ that you're going to be shelling out for them?

My third question is - What are some good public universities that offer excellent photography courses without the private art school tuition?

Long story short - I don't have any money. I can't get grants because my parents make too much money apparently, but the govn't doesn't consider the fact that my parents have six kids to put thru college and they are not able or willing to pay even a quarter of what a private art school would cost. I know that as a photographer it is very unlikely that I would ever be able to repay that kind of student loan. I am so interested in getting a good photography degree and would really like to become a photographer, so any advice that you guys could offer would be great.

P.S. I live in Texas so public schools instate would be a nice bit of info.
