You know, there's this cool picture of a random guy or something and you want to use it for a commercial at church or for flyers. Do you have to worry about it if it is like 10 years old. I have this catalog of pictures from this company on a CD, and I don't want to have to pay them so I hope the rights are expired and I can use them.

My wife has just opened a photography studio; hence I am trying to get some information on designing and preparing backdrops versus paying 200 dollars plus for them. What is best Canvas drop cloth or Muslin? What type of paint should one use?, Or should one use dye? If there is some literature explaining these questions I have a heads up would be nice too.

i have a couple photographs of my grandmother that were taken at gimbel's department store in nyc quite a long time ago... the photos are not in the best of shape these days.

at the bottom of the photos there are identification numbers for the negatives. and on the backs of the photos it says that the negatives were kept on file at gimbel's.

is there any way to find those negatives now that gimbel's does not exist? or are they gone forever...

I have zero art background, but I love photography. I do all kinds, but i first started it because i liked nature/outdoor photography. I've been told by many people not to pursue the career, you can't make money in it, and some other people saying you can if you're good enough. I'm wondering if i should pursue it or leave it as a hobbie?I have another interest in my life...a different career path, very different. So i think i should follow that because it might be more secure and stable than photography. I've never used a $$$ proffesional digital camera. I like old-fashion things, and don't have the $ now. My talent is average, but has improved. My imagination and drive make me willing to try it. I also know zero about altering digital photos or making a website..which is a huge negative. I don't even know what kind of photographer i'd want to be
Photo-journalism also interests me

I saw these wonderful photos online from a photgrapher whose name i have forgotten. The photos were of people/children with animals. A girl and an elephant, a boy swimming with a mannatee, etc. They were so beautiful and haunting. Some of the photos were in black and white. If anyone knows the photographers name or a place where I could view his photographs I would apprecitate it. thank you.
