Because all woman have low self estem. The best way to raise it is to be desired by a man. All men desire models!
I feel my best when I am being desired by a man.

It was never my dream, so it's hardly every girl dream.
But it's something about girls are supposed to be princesses, they are supposed to be very beautiful and perfect. And it's often the grown ups around the girls that help a lot with getting into their heads that they want to be models or flight attendants.

Girls more than boys are socialized into the idea that they are to be passively seen, not actively heard. Therefore, their desire for success manifests itself into becoming the highest social conception of physical attractiveness. Personally, I think critical intelligence gives women the edge in attraction because of the confidence it creates, but hygine's a factor, too. Supermodels and most other models are photographic fictions that are designed to mislead society into believing that feminine perfection is somehow attainable. Well, that's my rant. Healthy lifestyles are the most fruitful.

That's an interesting observation. It hasn't been mine. I don't know any women who in the past had that dream as young girls or young girls who have it currently. Maybe too much bad press about the industry?

You get free clothes and people play with your hair and do your makeup. I didn't want to be a model when I was young. I wanted to be a detectvie.

Although I was approached to be a model, I declined because I am too shy and don't relish that kind of attention. I haven't regretted my decision at all and I am now 40.

Most girls like to be pretty and have boys like them. So they think models have it made. I wouldn't want to be a model but I would like to look like one. My boyfriend likes to look at porn. Well, I am not ugly but I am not model looking. I am 5'4" and 140. I have stretch marks on my flabby pooch (belly) and boobs from being pregnant. My breast are not firm because I am getting older and have breast fed. I am pale, my hair is chin length and baby fine, I have a gnarly scar on thigh and arm from an accident. So, yea I would love to look like a model, but not be one. What woman wouldn't want to trun heads when she walks into a room or have guys tell her she is sexy? But, outer beauty fades and inner beauty blossoms or so they say.

I haven't a clue. Why would anyone want to have an occupation that requires that they starve to death and usually have a lack of curves that are attractive. Maybe it is because we learn to make stick people at an early age.

because culturally we place too much value on a standard of beauty and ridicule those outside the norms.
We allow the media to define our opinions and don't question enough what is True for ourselves.
