I have a canon EOS 350D which i am still learning how to use properly. I just want to know the importance of different filters (macro, UV etc) and what difference do they make?

I've been asked to take photos at a friends wedding reception. I'm not a professional photographer, but I do enjoy photography and have a Canon 20D camera with the standard 18x55 Canon lens, and a 28x200mm Zoom lens. I don't have any additional flash equipment, just what I stated here. The reception will be at dusk/night time. I want to get mainly candids, but I'd like them to be as professional as possible. Any tips or suggestions to think about?

I thought it would be great artistic alternative to using regular color disposable, but I was wondering about the quality of the pictures.

My pics of my cat always show glowing or red eyes - even if she is not looking into the camera. I have tried no flash, red eye reduction, 3 different cameras, etc. and nothing seems to work for me. Any suggestions?

I took some wonderful photos on a holiday. However, I wanted to take as many photos as possible and so decided to leave the digital camera in VGA ( low resolution mode ). I like a photo that I'd like to make into an 8*10. Should I resend the photo back to the camera and then save the image as 5 megapixel. Will that solve my problem? Or should I develop the photo into a 4*6 and then scan the photo into a higher resolution? Or should I do like the clerk at the photography store said to save the image in TIFF format and she might be able to get that same resolution that I see on my computer monitor?

It's for a no smoking image that I'm making (for a home cinema policy image that will be part of a slide show just like at Cineworld Cinemas before the trailers start), it needs to be of good resolution (the higher the better), of a clean, 20-something left hand holding a cigarette exactly like this: http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h91/garlicjnr2001/nosmoking.jpg
It also needs to be lit with smoke coming off it going up, & have a plain white, yellow or black background (use a piece of A3 paper or a bed sheet or something as a background).

The best photo gets the points for the best answer. You will need to upload it to rapidshare or something so I can download it.

They're small sticky triangles that you tuck a corner of a photo/picture in, stick them to something and then they stay put, i cant remember and its bugging me!

Im taking a photo class and our first project is about exposure.
We have to shoot the subject at normal exposure and then also 2 stops under-exposed and over-exposed.
I know that under-exposed means darker but how do I do that? Like what do I do with the shutter speed and f-stop?
And what about making it overexposed?
And how can I use the light meter to help guide me?

Im supposed to be taking these pictures outside btw.
and I have a Pentax ZX60 camera with a Pentax 28-90 lens.
Do i have to do anything with the lens for exposure?

And does anyone know about the Pentax ZX60? I think my teacher said that instead of making it 2 stops over/under exposed, I'm supposed to make it 4 half stops because my camera has more numbers. This is true right?

And does anyone know what AV means? Aperture? Do i have to do anything with the aperture to change the exposure? How do you change it?

Sorry about all the questions, Im just a little confused.

I’ve been having a lot of hard time trying to get good composition ,partly because I never tried to learn, but I kind of began to understand the basics and the importance of following the guidelines(as it has ruined some of my pics partly) and I know sometimes I should brake the rules to make my photos a bit more artistic(as Picasso did) but im just posting some of this pics up to see if im improving at all, I tried to get them done as fast as I could so I can get used to naturally getting composition into place. I tried to do cross, rule of thirds, and the golden rule, I want to learn on simple objects first before I can start on the complexity of people…..

Can anyone give me a really good ideas for a photo of a girl in a bra(or if you think would be more better- semi-nude) wearing “diamond earrings & a bracelet” more interesting and appealing for a modeling portfolio? Because the last shoot went horribly wrong on both our parts, so we will try to learn from our mistakes and try it again, but suggest some things so that its not just another cheap jewelry shot. I need high fashion, so something exotic yet affordable like what antm(Americas next top model) did like add a tarantula to the photo……any ideas are welcome as long as they are budget worthy
